josh specifically tuned it to fit Bb major, hence why they planned the g minor emo rock bit which is the relative minor to Bb

There's a band that's been doing this on the reg for DECADES. They're called Phish. Yeah they have tunes for a starting or landing point but there's literally MONTHS of improvised material to listen to dating from back to the early 80's. And their composed stuff is pretty entertaining too.

Adam just have this amazing energy on stage, and such a good stage precance that I actually tought he was the guitarist for half the video. Never seen a bass player, yet alone a jazz bass player, that plays such a large role on stage. Great to see!

That was such a cool approach to music making! Showing your audience what an improvisation session looks like in a band is such a brilliant idea!! Also, allowing your audience to determine the mood of a song/piece? Very inclusive! Loved the video from beginning to end!

What adam starts saying at 10:19 is so tru. I mean it's psychological bc when you're truly improvising like that you're using your instrument as your voice and having a conversation with other musicians who are using their instruments as their voice. That's all it is. You're reading body language, expressions, hand signals, whatever else to form a coherent conversation. You're just talking to eachother with instruments while other people are watching.

I absolutely love this combination of gig footage and behind the scenes. It feels insightful, and like a unique work on its own that I am able to fully enjoy despite missing the live experience. I was / am in a project that did / does this very thing. we had a standing 3 hour gig monthly on top of the other random gigs. there are nights where it's just magic and then there were the nights that I was just like oh god why do we play music.

Would love to see band practice play a set in front of an audience but like in a studio and just record 10 completely improvised songs on the spot. Have the audience choose feelings and things so titles will be easier and stuff like that.
