An amazing ending to the best weekend of water levels we've had here on the East Coast in 3 years. An amazing combination of a foot of snow, coupled with rain and high temperatures resulted in the river levels skyrocketing, but more importantly holding for over 2 days, which is almost unheard of here without a solid snowpack or hurricane. Anyways, finally got the opportunity to paddle the Dry Fork with the living legend Mike Moore leading the way. What more could you ask for? Sorry for the boring lines, was really freaked out by the high water level combined with the width or the river, and ended up sneaking some of the bigger rapids since it was my PFD and I didn't know what to expect. Will be hitting everything next time! At 6 feet, this run felt like a bigger and more continuous version of the New River Gorge at 5 feet, the Cheat Narrows around 25,000 cfs, or the Lower Gauley above the standard release level. Was ridiculously fun, and would recommend it to anyone!
