You can’t leave us hanging like this! You’re gonna have to make a part 2 and show us that you’ve screwed that screw all the way in!

Shouldn't the connection between the duct and the cover be tighter? Either should fit tightly around the metal duct exiting the house, or at least caulk the gaps so you don't have damp dryer air ending up behind the siding. Note that on these three-louvered designs, the louvers easily remove by pulling up in the center (they flex slightly), making it very easy to take out and get a more precise fit with the duct.

Will caulking the outside edge suffice or does it have to be drilled?

Caulking should work. Make sure the surface area is very clean before you caulk.

The way you did this is a recipe for mold in your walls...you need firm sealed connections between all sections of duct.

It looks like you just placed he cover in front of vent. Need to seal the vent to the cover. Unless you like moisture in your walls.

How NOT to replace a dryer vent cover. The pipe needs to go all the way out with no air gaps. You're leaking warm, moist air into the wall.

He provides nothing on size measurements! Just because the square is the same size, it still may not work!
