Hey mate neat work do you ever screw through the cornice and into the ceiling joists to give it the extra benefit of piece of mind
@Maxkil
Ай бұрын
No I don't do that, sometimes i do put some screws or nails into a kitchen overhead cabinet and leave them there for extra security.

Hey max Watch all your vids Just wondering when measuring cornice do you measure tight or give allowance like a 1mm per corner
@Maxkil
Ай бұрын
Hi Adam, thanks for watching mate. Yeah great question, I normally cut it 1-2mm shorter than my measurement, I hate it when it's all mudded up and then it doesn't fit because it's too long.

Yeah I wouldn't do it for less than $500. ideally you can do as much work as possible for someone in the day that way can make more for each attendance

I hate doing decorative cornice its not that forgiving . Cove is what i prefer so much easier doing external and internal mitre cuts.
@Maxkil
Ай бұрын
yeah for sure much easier, and its light too! At least the decorative cornice is more rewarding

Silicon for the bottom edge to the tiles?
@Maxkil
Ай бұрын
i just normally use gap filler instead of silicon, because its paintable.
@cryptodojoau5425

@@Maxkil last one I did I used the same silicon colour as the grout. Most of the time you can find the same silicon as the grout. But, then I do the tiling as well. Which gives me the opportunity to work with the owner on grout colour, with colour swatches. I try to do that because of the damp, bathrooms etc.

I can't believe you get 500 for that. San Diego is cheapskateville.

@@Maxkil Well, nobody does foam moulding or "cove" moulding here... but they do crown which is 2 a linear foot.. something like that. Way too much competition I think. Framing is what I used to do mainly and it was ten dollars a square foot.. so a 400 SF room would be 4K...to frame.. but I can;t get that these days.. Kinda weird.. People are so tight..shove a piece of coal up their ass and in two weeks you'd have a diamond..
