Bro every video of yours im learning at least 1 new thing. Brb gonna go put 2 used tape rolls on the top of my ladder so I don't scuff the walls with the rubber end. It's so clever! Also for the viewers the plank hes on is called a telescoping plank, 8'-13' ones have served me well I think he has the longer one though.

On a stairway like that, I use to run an extension ladder on the side like you have, a temporary wood brace screwed into the drywall where your other ladder is, and a extendable plank like you have. After I sand, I'd remove the 2x4 and spot it in with quick set 5 min twice and sand it real quick.

That’s another way to do it. That’s how I started back in the days. But I’m a taper and there is always an easier way, so I remove the extendable leg from the ladder and place the paper from an old role of tape on the top open ends of the extension so I can protect the wall. In this case when I’m done there is no extra work.

@@augustinhogreen3117 yeah, those stairways suck because they turn at the bottom. If I could fit a drywall bench in there with extension legs on some stairs, I'd do that to on the closer wall. We use to hang and tape so it wasn't a big deal, sometimes we'd go ahead and finish those hard to reach areas while hanging the house so just the easy stuff was left on taping day. Then again, I use to do retarded stuff like stilts on a 12" plank over an open stair way.... fall and your legs are no more if you are lucky to live. To be young and stupid again, I guess!

Building houses is dangerous work. That is the right way and the only way to get to that area.
