Make a corpus in the fxgrid! But yes more colour customisation would be cool

Came here to say that as well, I really wish Bitwig had some custom themes / dark mode. I love this color tint Polarity is using here.

Most slept on Plugin? It's Cardinal, of course. Bitwig users wouldn't get it because they already got the Grid but it should be on everyone else's plugin list. And it's free.

im about to move to reaper from bitwig and just downloaded cardinal. very excited to try it. i dont use much modular stuff anyway which is why im switching but im looking for synths with nice unison/detune for my tastes so its one of the plugins i plan to try

@@Digitt6 Have fun but also take it easy; there are over a thousand modules included. The thing with Cardinal (and the Grid, I suppose) which makes it special is how well it can fit in different specific roles your plugin arsenal doesn't. Whenever a fancy new plugin releases most people start measuring their wallets, meanwhile I stop and think "so, how can I pull this off with Cardinal?" and oftentimes *I can*

@@nitroanilinmusic have you heard of or messed with plugdata/pure-data? I just discovered it yesterday. However, I also heard about Cardinal a while back and never really dove in - overwhelming indeed. I'm curious how you think the two environments compare? Is Cardinal just like a more ready made gui-friendly version of what plugdata and pure-data allow you to build?

Hey do you have the issue of the sensitivity curve freezing when you move a filter handle which is not in stereo mode? It will update if I toggle back to stereo mode, and I'm pretty sure it's still processing correctly, but the curve doesn't actually follow the handle otherwise. Also, maybe you have some insight into this - when I hit the "~" ai threshold calculator, it always sets it way higher than is necessary for any ducking to actually occur. Seeing as it appears to be linked to the custom threshold setting, maybe that's why? I'm using the latest 3.9.0 version and noticed these things as well as a typo. Still poking around for more things before reporting it, but just thought I'd put it out there.

I use Dynamic spectrum Mapper. It's one of the best plug ins ever invented. I tried DSEQ nad it is very good however ime DSM does everything shown here and but never goes encoder-y sounding.

Dialing in the sweet spot with DSEQ3 is definitely possible without getting artifacts. Anyone contemplating a purchase should not be put off by the fact that DSEQ3 allows for extreme settings. You just have to know what's under the hood. According to my brief correspondence with support, it seems the quality setting (and perhaps the oversampling as well) controls the number of bins available to the processor, and then selectivity controls how much influence is shared between neighboring bins. DSM apparently uses BANDS instead of bins. Bands overlap and bins do not. This may give DSM a more safe and smooth approach with minimal artifacts, but the bin approach of DSEQ3 is what allows for much more surgical attenuation of specific frequencies. I spent a while running shrill samples, white noise, etc through DSEQ3 while permutating through the quality setting, oversampling, and selectivity. There's an interesting and dramatic change in the blue gain reduction curve between "soft, 0, and 1" on selectivity for example. Same thing with the quality. Experimenting at the extremes lets you infer the inner workings a bit better and has definitely informed my use of the plugin over all. I'd encourage everyone to see what I mean. The artifacts mostly appear when the attack and release aren't opened up at all and the quality (bin count) and selectivity are maxed out. Linear phase vs natural phase can also make a big difference when you are making intense, fast cuts in the high end. Switching between the two while in delta monitoring is very interesting. At the end of the day though, DSEQ3 takes it's own approach and it no worse because of it. A bit of moderation, finesse, and understanding are all that's required. I used it to mix an extremely busy 6 layer, full power piano/string arrangement, for example, and it came out sounding pretty darn transparent! A smoother EQ approach probably would have corrupted the character of the layer being ducked. ps: not trying to be preachy here, just singing the praises of DSEQ3 for anyone on the fence. Thanks for mentioning DSM, btw. Have you tried Soniformer at all?
