Can you explain what the difference is? I always see people saying comments like this, along the lines of: “it’s not actually auto tune…” but I don’t know a lot about the behind the scenes of music so I never understand
@thomasharris9059
@@mattlloyd-davies9993 Vocal editing is auto tune but done manually. So audio engineers will very carefully scrape through the vocal recording and remove/mute certain consonants, balance everything, make sure the pitch is perfect, etc. Auto tune takes the live vocals and just fits them on the grid in real time. Nowadays all audio engineers edit vocals, some people like post Malone will also use auto-tune in addition. I honestly don’t think it’s all that important a distinction, but vocal editing will get rid of a lot of things you’ll hear in auto tune and make it sound way more natural. People like Michael Buble are incredibly talented but his audio engineers will still make sure everything is perfectly in tune and cleaned up. I honestly don’t care even when people use auto tune, I think people are just gatekeeping it. There are some people I really enjoy who use lots of auto tune (like Camilla Cabello) and others who only clean up their vocals for a more raw feel (like Billie Eilish).

Right! And, most importantly, it has NOTHING to do with the singer being able to sing or not! Most famous singers know their singing technique. You just manipulate sound because you want certain effects. A precise vocalist can give you twenty great, perfectly serviceable vocal takes and prefer to have them combed through to choose the bits they like the most from each to form what in their head is the most expressive, rich and clear take.

@@enterthedragon2689 This video perfectly shows she has a great voice. As for her voice not being inspiring, that's a dumb statement. Tastes are subjective and what you may not find inspiring may be inspiring for others. Stop being a condescending pedant.

@@MCHiphopotamus you can find a great voice in Freddy Mercury, in John Lennon, in Ozzy Osbourne, in Tarja Turunen and many other prominent singers. Lets be honest, you are here for her looks, not for her voice, and it's so obvious that I regret time that I have to waste explaining you this. You can bullshit whatever you want about different tastes, but her voice is objectively dumb-sounding with a narrow range. Keep simping more.

Desde España. Dua Lipa canta bien. Funciona 'a capella'.

Otra superdotada. Escucha su versión del 'Close to you' del recién fallecido Burt Bacharach o un vídeo que se llama «When you have a 5 min before the concert and your friends are Anime fans - Itsumo Nando Demo», con el tema de cierre de la película «El viaje de Chihiro».
