We’re planning on moving house soon and are likely to have a relatively small garden and be surrounded by other properties. I have been stressing over how I am going to find space for an HF antenna without scaring the neighbours and this mounted on the side of the house with a small rotator looks like it will be the perfect solution. I hope to be in touch to place an order in the months ahead!

Can you orient the capacity hats vertically instead of horizontally?.....would that effect polarity?
@proantennas
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gregory, Orienting the capacity hats vertically will unbalance the system and reduce the effective height above ground. Performance changes will be subtle but one noticeable change is usually an increase in the noise floor that will reduce signal to noise performance on receive. Kind regards, Tony

Hi, Thanks for the comment. I have to update it now as I have changed the matching transformer mounting arrangement. Hope you are staying safe in India.

what is the maximum power handling on 10metres of this antenna? and I'm assuming it would also work well on 11metres for freebanding?
@proantennas

Hi, thanks for the contact. The maximum power is 1000W PEP on 10m and yes, it should also work well on 11m.

Bonjour, J'ai reçu mon antenne Dual Beam Pro aujourd'hui. Je constate que les liaisons Balun dipôle fournies sont en tresse et non en aluminium rigide. Je pense que dans le temps les tresses de liaison vont s'oxyder, n'est ce pas Hello, I received my Dual Beam Pro antenna today. I note that the Balun dipole links supplied are in braid and not in rigid aluminum. I think in time the binding braids will oxidize, don't they Best regards 73's to France

Hi there I’m interested in this antenna how does performance compare on 15 and 17m compared to a traditional wire dipole , cheers

Hi Nigel, The Dual Beam Pro is more compact than a full size dipole and easier to mount at height. The smaller size coupled with the balancing matching transformer also means It has lower receive noise levels. The Dual Beam Pro is also directional with 2 lobes radiating at right angles to the main element. This gives a gain of up to 11dBi or around 8dB relative to a simple half wave dipole. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Tony

@@proantennas thank you for the reply one last question I have got a external atu but convinience of built in atu does make for a easy life generally speaking do you think the atu within my Yaesu ft950 would tune 20 to 10m many thanks

Hi Nigel, I can't guarantee it but you should be fine on 20-10m with most built in ATUs. The native SWR for these bands should be between 3:1 and 6:1. Kind regards Tony

how long the element and thin tube
@proantennas

The element tubes are all 2.5m long so that is the length of the package for shipping. The main element comprises 2 of these tubes so that is 5m long.
