Nice video, very easy to understand the breakdown of these. Quick question - the idle mixture screw, if you back it out does it lean the mixture? I assume that it does.
@VWJawbreaker

Thank you for that. The idle mixture screws are metering fuel, not air. As they are turned out you’re letting more fuel through the idle circuit. Turn out, richer, turn in, leaner.

I'm glad you have brought up the float level with the new shit fuel we have these days. I kept having fuel boil over after shutting down the motor and did some research and found out the new ethanol fuel has a different buoyancy and boiling point compared to the conventional gasoline that the float specs were originally set to. I also set my floats a mill or 2 lower just because of that. I have ran the empi's as well as Italian weber 34's and haven't seen any performance different besides the empi's having better idle quality due to tight throttle shafts:) it has been about 8 years since I ran the baby weber clones so they may have changed the jetting but they were extremely lean on cruise and I wondered why a set of dual carbs on a stock 1600 was slower than the single carb, well a few jet changes later and it ran well:) heck with the haters everything is china made and empi isn't the best but if thats all you can afford go thru it, check it out and run it they aren't bad at all:) thanks for the vid!

@@VWJawbreaker Well. I wasn't going for anything as extreme as TH289's lawnmower carb experiment, I just figured if a 34 PICT could power a 1600cc engine (roughly 100 CID) then 2 could power a 200 CID engine, plus I understand they're fairly easy to tune.
