I was testing climb strength of the Penguin, but subsequently burned up one of the stock penguin motors while in INAV Cruise mode. The thrust on only the right side caused a violent nose-down spin when INAV throttled up. The plane lost 450 ft of altitude in 10 seconds before the recovery, showcasing how a higher altitude can provide more time to adequately troubleshoot a failure. I fumbled with the switches, and accidently disarmed the plane. This luckily allowed me to pull out of the spin before the plane met the ground. At the time, I didn't understand the cause of the spin, and once I recovered control I re-armed and attempted a power-on traditional landing approach and caused another inverted spin once I throttled up, this time into the ground. Luckily there was no additional damage beyond the fried motor, but it shows the lack of situational awareness with an RC plane during a malfunction, even with the benefits of an OSD. Your brain is trying to play catchup, struggling to get true comprehension of the issue. I expected to see an aileron separated from the wing, not a dead motor.
