I just picked up one of these bad boys, and I'm noticing that it reacts quite a bit faster than my old controller, I don't feel quite so much delay between my button inputs and the action on the screen. I'm not sure whether this is because the Dualshock 3 is better, or my old controller has just been wearing out over the past 2 years of use. But I am definitely happy to have a new controller after all these years.

Dual-shock has always done it for me, but given this was 14 years ago, it's getting a bit harder to find these types of controllers aside from the imitation ones (posing) as the higher quality. One has to really pay attention as well as hope if purchasing them online, the dealer is honest.....

I looked it up on the Sony site as well as others prior to doing this video and the six axis controller dose in fact have pressure sensitive buttons. The only ones that are not pressure sensitive are the select, start and PS button.

There are some videos on here which can show you its capabilities, and they are pretty impressive. Now Sony has been paying attention, and they have displayed their own new Motion Controller at e3, and it looks extremely impressive, and far more advanced than the Wiimote and the MotionPlus. And Microsoft's Natal also is extremely impressive. I can't wait to see how these products develop.

The "sixaxis" as you put it, is just an accelerometer which the Wiimote also has. I'm not sure which one is more advanced, but the Wiimote's design is more intuitive for basic maneuvers like sword fighting (which works very well in No More Heroes). It really doesn't make sense to try make a slashing motion with Dual Shock 3. The MotionPlus adds more advanced accelerometer functions to the controller, which allows for 1to1 tracking.

I've noticed a big difference. I got so upset when I got my PlayStation and this is one I bought just like 3 or 4 years ago of eBay or something. It had one of the original Controllers, there are some very good controllers out there. But for me nothing compares to the sensitivity and response of the original, and I do think it gave vibration.

I agree dualshock has way better analog response than the stiff six axis one , I used to play NFS mw with my old dual shock pad. I used to be so fluent at taking turns until I had to replace it with a new pad ( six axis) and now I completely feel like a newbie at that game which has left me a little traumatized.

I was talking about longevity, and used the 2600 as an example of a piece of technology that will still work after 30 years whereas the DS3 won't because Sony probably won't manufacture rechargeable batteries for the DS3 after 30 years.

Peep this:Sony announced that because of the included motion sensors, the vibration feature of previous PlayStation controllers was removed, stating that the vibration would interfere with motion-sensing.[5] This therefore made the PS3 wireless controller incredibly light, which felt strange to players[citation needed] accustomed to heavier controllers such as the DualShock.

By $10. But I want you to keep in mind that a person just doesn't need a Wii mote. They need need the nunchuck. Then on top of that the Wii mote runs on 2 double AAs. I'm lost.. So it seems the only difference is that the sticks click easier..and the dual shock has shaking.. Though if you don't care about the click because you're only using one (not side-by-side), and if shock isn't meaningful to you, then they're virtually the same? So why is the dualshock 3 so much better?
