I was sparring a female in our gym once, and out of nowhere she did a spinning back kick which bruised my rips, which took a month to heal. But what made it worse was her boyfriend’s reaction. Unless you're specifically doing drills with lighter weights, a lot of gyms will actually have the sturdier heavyweights serve as a mobile heavy bag that occasionally jabs back to help fighters develop stronger strikes and clinch work. Usually they'd wear headgear but given the size and gender difference he could have opted not to with his opponent. Given how polite they are at the end I think that's the case here.

When it came to the sparring part, after I let her get a few combos in to get a feel for her offense, I countered with a cross to the stomach. Nothing anything harder than I would with anyone else (plus I’m 5’ 7” and weigh 130, she was like double my size haha) and she collapsed and couldn’t continue. @@FelSL I personally think that if you're sparring and she is going all out you should do the same, it happened sometimes that a girl was joking on me but they don't undestand that there is a substancial difference just being a male or a female. Plus she could be a flyweight meanwhile i'm a heavyweight, so even if i hold back ect. you are still taking a punch/kick from a 90Kg guy. The thing is: "you are a female and you don't want to be injured or else?" lightspare and don't get carried away thinking that 40kg difference is nothing plus a person could be more experieced than you and you maybe aren't good as you think you are. Unfortunately people don't undestand those things and it's a big problem. Btw i'm okay sparring with girls or people that are lighter than me or less experienced but a light spar is a thing, trying to ko the other person is another. Of course if i see that you're trying to strike me down with force i would do the same with you, is natural as matter of facts.

People at a similar level to test your skills under some sort of pressure. People that are better to get a better idea of your weaknesses and what you should work on. When I spar with girls, I just match their intensity (I don't need to go harder to prove that I'm stronger), so it's on them to determine how hard we go. I also like to use those spars to train head movement because of the lesser consequences in case a strike lands on me.

There's nothing more annoying than sparring with a larger fighter who thinks if a small person goes 75% on them then they're allowed to go 75%. Y'all have a very distorted and dangerous concept of fairness that doesn't take into account strength difference and body size. If a girl hits you 75% you're fine. If you hit a girl 75% she's not. That's the difference and that's why most people who actually train are totally fine with girls or smaller men going 75%.

Alright, this reminds me of a story. Different situation, it's maybe 1968 and the young woman who would later become my mother was taking a mixed level beginning/intermediate Judo class in Hawaii. (She was from Seattle but was taking a class at the University of Hawaii, working on her masters.) After the class the students were encouraged to spar (randori) with each other and with other more experienced folks who were showing up for the next advanced class. My mom was the only woman in the dojo at the time, and is petite at only 5'2", but she had always had a good experience doing this before. No one was trying to hurt anyone else, people would take turns being the aggressor, with small breaks between takedowns when experienced practitioners would offer tips to the newbs, etc. Good stuff, usually. But today there was a new guy, trained at some other dojo, and he was a jerk. He asked my mom to spar, then proceeded to slam her on the mat; then wouldn't even let her adjust her gi (judo clothes) before attacking again, and again, and again. She's shocked, trying to get away, and eventually is able to get off the mat and retreat. The guy is taunting her, asking her where she's going. But the master of the dojo had noticed, walked over and said, "I'll randori you." And then proceeded to teach this guy a lesson. The master was usually very mild, very controlled, but not today. He slammed the guy down hard, immediately grabbed him as he was trying to get up and slammed him down again. Other people sparring nearby stopped and moved to the sides of the room, giving the master full use of the entire sparring area. The room grew quiet, with only the sounds of the guy getting thrown down onto the floor again and again to break the silence. The guy tried to crawl away but the master said, "Where are you going?" And a few more throws later the master stopped as the guy was now laying on the mat and barely able to move. He leaned over and slowly said in a firm voice, "Be humble." After a pause, to make sure the guy heard and understood, he said, "Get up, leave now, and do not come back." My mom kept going to that dojo until she finished her studies at the University and left Hawaii, never had another problem like that.

@TrueEnglishMan01 I think what he is trying to explain is that the majority of women tend to get offended when it comes to hard sparring or even sparring in general. Only a few of them take shit seriously and fight back. I'm a female fighter, I tend to fight guys and even go hard with some of them that are closer to my age (I'm 16). However, after each hard session I leave with bruises or cuts all over my body since as scientifically proven, men tend to have denser bones and in general higher testosterone levels. I'm not trying to prove anything, infact I don't support femism at all, I just express my experiences. Also older guys that are fully grown men go light on me and I fully recognize and respect them. I believe sometimes it's all about pain tolerance; fighting a man is like a train coming nonstop at you. Additionally, sparring with men is way better since you learn more stuff than fighting with other females, sorry ladies - men have it in their blood.

One time i was sparring with this milf at the beginning of my muay thai training(maybe week 3-4) and she went super aggressive and hard on me and i was caught many times by suprise of how rough she was. Hitting me with 100% and i got hurt a couple of times but i was too much of a beginner to know what to do to counter her. Fast forward 3-4 months when i got better and had to fight her again i was jabbing her in the face because she was punching me and not defeding her face at all. She then proceeded to fight me at 50% and left the practice forever.

The thing is, no matter how trained any women is they can't and will never beat men in their weight and height 1v1 without some sort of huge skill advantage or weapon. I even put any man 25lbs lighter and a foot smaller than any woman and the aggression/muscle and adrenaline in the man is going to overpower her every time. Women strengths are in other areas and in their own ways, Men have built the world for them, we should always be respectful, but at the same time, never suffer any fools, as good ppl don't let others take advantage of them.
