The text below is the dictionary description of the word 'legend' it is fair/correct to call Martin Cahill a legend as: 1 there are stories told about him 2 He is famous and events in which he was involved are famous. 3 there are inscriptions on Martin Cahill and 4 if anyone knows anything about symbols on maps, it's Martin Cahill! So YES he is a legend!

The real Martin Cahill reminds me a lot of Michael Collins in the picture of his face with his hair combed across. No disrespect to the Big Fellow himself intended. From an outsiders point of view, i liked martins attitude. I am a catholic and would think that ireland should be united if thats what the majority of the 32 counties want and everything, but still, thats irelands business. His attitude was, fuck the paramilitaries, i am a professional criminal and i only have interest in them if they can make me money or send the screws off my tracks. He was cunning and self centred. But all the great criminals are.

Don't mind the film, it wasn't that obvious. Its not like they camped out side his house for months and then disappeared on the day of the shooting. If they did that it would be far too obvious and they themselves would probably end up being blamed, they stopped following him closely for a week or two before hand and people knew he wasn't being monitored so they had their chance, I mean who is going to go try shoot him if they thought the police were going to be watching.

And yet he still managed to walk into Harcourt st Garda station and walk out with Garda uniforms and break into to chief of public prosecutions office. I knew someone that used to have to meet him and he'd tell me that Cahill would have to get a train from Connelly and get off in say Wicklow (or anywhere else outside of country Dublin) where he'd have a car waiting for him to whisk him away from his tail. And he'd have to be driven back to Dublin for their meeting. Imagine the hassle.
