Interesting "challenge", but... why? Haha. It just seems hella more tedious to make anything this way, and you're basically just limiting your note ranges on each of the elements, and the number of available "tracks", right? Or are all of the sounds going straight to the master track too? I can mention that I skipped through large parts of the video, since I am not an Ableton user (it's easy enough to follow along with the concept of how you do things, anyways). The MPE programming was kinda clever, on a conceptual level. I would have expected some more tracker-style linear programming of some elements though, but that's just me. Overall, pretty interesting experiment.

Fun, it's not really about it being a practical setup, challenging yourself is fun. I don't think doing something requires something besides just feeling like it tbh

I was bored one night and I wanted to do something a bit silly LMAOO Yes it's super tedious and it honestly doesn't do much but I just wanted to see what would / could happen all for the fun of it. To answer your questions, Ableton's workflow is designed to have one sound source only go through one audio / midi track at a time, and all tracks automatically route to the master. After watching the video, one of my friends told me that this wouldn't be as much of a challenge in FL Studio as one midi clip can have different channels that could route to different instruments and such. Because of this, the challenge is mainly only a thing for Ableton and other DAWs may not have this bottleneck. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 🙏💗😊

@@genesis_tracks Yeah, I think I kinda get how it's set up then. I've just used Ableton a handful of times myself, but I have lots of friends using it. In Reason, I'd just set up a single Combinator for all the MIDI, and split the keyboard to trigger the synths and stuff that way. Then just route all of the triggered devices to their own audio channels to add effects and to mix, etc.

@@illford Yeah, I agree. Good way to dig deeper into the actual routings of Ableton, too.

@@paralytik Ohhhh I see, I've never tried Reason but I've been meaning to give it a go sometime. Thanks for the insight!
