How does the Ducati Monster 797 stack up as the all-new baby monster? check out the review to find out Twitter: @caco_moto Instagram: @caco_moto Music by: bensound.com
It’s not just you on the neutral issue, I have this bike bought at 380 miles and getting neutral was quite troublesome. Thankfully the issue becomes less and less of a problem the more miles you put on it. This is my first big bike and after passing on an MT07, I was thinking, what have I done! 🙈. You get used to the quirkiness of the bike though and I’m enjoying owning it now and taking care of it, the paintwork is superb. The turning circle is terrible. The bike handles well in filtering through traffic and I like the linear power delivery, there’s no big unexpected surges. The brakes are quality, the seat is very comfy. The switch gear is good as well, I’m always hitting the horn instead of the indicator button on a Yamaha. I’ll get the termi exhaust and remap at some point. Good review 👍

Thank you sir! It's a great bike with some Italian quirks. Actually loved my time with it. In my opinion, one of the best looking and handling naked bikes on the market. Get a Yamaha for the reliability, the ducati is your bike for pizzazz and presence. Congratulations on your bike sir and keep us posted long term!

Richard, there is a leftover 2017 797 for sale in my area. The dealer has reduced the price far enough that it is just as affordable as the MT 07. With the price being the same, which one would you recommend?

Great to see/watch you back. 👍🏻 May I ask if that’s a riding jeans you’re wearing? Just a thought. 😊

I'm currently just using regular jeans. Occasionally, I'll be using nylon pants for off road, but for general use, jeans are what I use. I should be using riding jeans though

CacoMoto ah okay. I thought so. I just thought it was a riding jeans with a sleek profile where the pads aren’t really showing up. Nylons are indeed great for adventure or off-road long rides. Being a new rider I invested on one riding jean at the moment. But still wear regular jeans most of the time. Haha! 😎

I will eventually also invest in jeans, looking for some that font show the pads too much hehe

CacoMoto hmm... I think you’ll like the sr6 from Bull it. Pretty much looks like a normal jean with or without the knee and hip pads. Motostyle in sm aura has them. 😊

nice review!boss ok lng ba ung air cooled sa traffic?which is much metter air cooled or ung liquid cooled?plan to buy baby monster pero nag aalangan ako kc air cooled lng sya..salamat god bless

I tested a few air cooled bikes in traffic, would always overheat, especially if it's a big bike. For traffic use, would reco liquid cooled, or if air cooled, get external auxiliary fan

Sir, quick question, I’m planning on getting the bike. Kaso I’ve read and watched that sometimes, even in speed, that mejo hirap siya pumasok sa gear at nag fa false neutral siya. Have you experienced any of those during your ride? Thank you!
@carlobig1

In my time with the bike, I didn't get false neutrals naman. I just had some problems getting it into neutral at stops, but it could be because the bike was not yet broken in at that time.

I find odd the focus on the bike engine's supposed poor sound but otherwise very good performance. If the engine's sound over performance is your thing, buy a Harley!

Just used to my own bike, I guess. Performance was good.. But wouldn't say very good. Decent.

It should have a Gear position indicator and fuel gauge at the price point . I mean those features are present in commuter bikes too What was Ducati thinking calling this a entry level Beginner bike and not give it those basic features 😑
