That was awesome. I bought this game for my son when he was 4 years old in 1989. I think it took us about a month to figure it all out. Fun game. We also played Super Mario 1 , but that game took us about a year to complete. Great memories.

Sprite flickering is usually not noticeable when using certain recording processes. I think it has something to do with the latency of modern day capture devices.

Transylvania was the level we had to spend more time in: the first time, just to clear it; the second time, to get that key for the African Mines (unless you got it down in the first attempt); and the third time, to rescue the treasures from Dracula Duck.

This was clearly played on and emulator and recorded. There's no way for anyone to tell if you used Quicksaves anytime you made a mistake, as your start/stop record could be assigned to the same key. As far as how I know it's being played on an emulator, the original game had some sprite flicker when multiple sprites and textures were used (as did most NES games), yet somehow there is zero sprite flickering in your video.

Sprite flickering has to do with the fact that there were more sprites on screen than the NES was capable of displaying at a single time. Not the method of video capture

Mine used to do that...but once I got to the last level. Your game or 72 pin connector is dirty. Try windex and q-tips to clean your cartridge, and then dry it with a clean q-tip. A bunch of brown black stuff will come out. After that you should be ok. If you still have trouble, message me and I'll tell you how to fix your 72-pin connector on the motherboard.

I don't think you understand how Game genie codes work... they change an established parameter value in the game. To invent some whole new mechanic that cost in-game money, you would need to change the code itself. For the GG to even have a shot at causing this, the mechanic would have to be in the code, but flagged to not work.
