The Duke 250 which was launched way back in 2015 in South East Asia has finally reached our shores. But, with new body work , new chassis, forks etc.
The Duke 250 share a lot with the 2017 Duke 390. It shares the same body work ( with different colour scheme) , engine casing ( with slightly different engine internals), wheels, forks are all the same just like the previous Duke series.
The New suspensions are a revelation, as it handles like no KTM that we have had the pleasure to ride in the past.
Engine is where the real difference is. It really comes to life after 6,000 rpm then cuts at about 9,500 rpm. To get the best out of this engine, one has to ride it like a two stroke bike. Novice riders who rarely go past 6,000 rpm will have to look elsewhere. This is not a bike for Novice riders..if you want to go fast.
Styling wise..it looks fantastic, getting its styling cues from KTM's flagship bike , the Super duke 1290.
We have one small gripes with the brakes, which is still the same as the Duke 200 is using. This bike has gained a lot of weight ..now its 161 kgs and the power have also grown to 25 ps. So, we feel the the standard brakes are a little week to cope with all the added weight and power.
Even though we really liked the new suspensions, its a little too soft for really hard riding.
The all New duke 250 sells for around almost 2 lakh..that a lot of money for a 250 cc bike. Is it worth the money..we think it is but that up to personal choice.
enjoy the video..thanks and don't forget to click like , and subscribe.
