It's interesting as the current Duke team will never have to face an elite upper classmen led team. As all the best upper classmen are long gone by the time their senior year comes around. Hell, the University of Hartford which has a bunch of seniors on the team, gave them trouble, until their point guard got hurt. Imagine what a team led by Christian Laettner (probably a top 10 best college basketball players ever). Cherokee Parks was the #1 ranked high school recruit in 1991 according to HoopScope (the source that they use in this video). He couldn't even crack the starting lineup at Duke.

The fab 5 were iconic but so is this Duke team. When is the last time a team was talked abt this much. I d say the fab 5. Alot of that has to do with Zion though. I really think 2 or 3 of these guys are going to be really good, but you can't tell till it happens. There have been alot of players that were supposed to be game changers and ended up being average or busts. I hope they live up to their potential though. If zion is healthy i do favor them to win the championship. Its not the 90s but there are some pretty good teams this year. Gonzaga and Virginia are the real deal along with some other teams not far behind.

ESPN is Trippen again. 89-91 UNLV Runnin Rebels was the team that set and did all the fresh flavor trends 1st that they are trying to give all the credit to Michigan for in this piece. Michigan was that very next team that Carried it Fwd. it was like they were the Rebels little brothers. The UNLV Runnin Rebels started that flavor out there on the court rocking do rag’s, a Goldie, fresh parts, fresh stripes, clean low fades, Hi Top fades with the gumbie, all was The Rebs being hated on 1st, for @ least the 3years prior alone. Rebels had been bringing the flavor to the college game but the new wave flavor @tm in particular was those years when Augmon, LJ, Anthony, Scurry & Hunt all came in. Except Fab 5 part of it. That was all Michigan starting freshman that was them but the flavor thing being the dudes with mad flavor looking fresh but taking heat, portrayed the bad Guys because they won when they fought back they whooped dirty teams on & off the court. Try to play shady & dirty against them & get the script flipped on you (ask the UTAH Utes as well). Them being the complete opposite and perfect rival to Duke that was Larry Johnson, Stacy Augmon, Greg Anthony, Anderson Hunt, George Ackles, Moses Scurry that had that flavor that attracted J.R. (Isiah) Rider coming in the same time the Fab 5 was up in Michigan J.R. Rider was leading the nation in scoring while the team was being banned from post season play for some fake NCAA made up nonsense because they hated on Coach Jerry Tarkanian for having flavor too. Rider was putting up top 3 In the nation including 1scoring title for UNLV while The Fab 5 was doing their thing. Coach K looks like a slithery snake. Tark preferred helping kids get out of the hood and better their lives so they hated him for it. The Flavor & Trend setters were The UNLV Runnin Rebels 90 National Champions 91 undefeated the entire season until the Final 4 where they choked a lil bit & lost by 2 to the team that won the next game too The National Championship. The Rebs had been blowing everyone out all year and wasn’t ready for the pressure of the close Game in the final minutes or The Final 4. Really too bad to see They would have went down as the best college team In History. 1 of the best in history to a few people of course but They would have been Back to Back National Champions going undefeated in the process of the repeat and had a heck of winning streak In the books as well, But... 3more points. LJ choked @ the end. He should have taken that shot to win the Game instead of kicking to Anderson Hunt. Not only was LJ the NCAA POY , about to be #1 Draft Pick but he showed us with The NYKnicks that he can hit that Game winning 3 or if necessary 4 Point Play.

Cam reddish vs juwan Howard, I’d say juwan Howard. Jimmy king vs tre Jones goes to jimmy king, ray Jackson vs Joey baker is ray Jackson for sure. So duke has 1 starter better than the fab 5 imo.
