Thanks for watching. It was a fun build, just took a very long time to set up all the wiring features I wanted. I have an Arleigh Burke number 51 sixty inch to build next.

Great job on your Crockett build. 1967 I was aboard the Crockett prior to my ship USS Estes escorted her refueling her every couple of days. acrossed from San Diego to the Philippines an arduous 21 day journey for a boat that drew only 4 feet forward 9 feet aft. I believe the Crockett was the only PG to go on her own bottom to the Vietnam war. The later PG .Were transported in the back of an LSD with the flight deck removed the floated on and floated off.

Wow first thanks for your service to our country and for the story of your experience on this ship. I live in NY and would love to meet you someday and show you the model.

@@robertschmidtrcmodelboats6483 yes ,one of our members of Maumee Valley Model Boat Club in Toledo,Oh posted your run video some time ago. I have a couple of pic of the Crockett I would like to send you. One of her highlining fuel from the Estes and one of her in Toledo after she transferred to the Corp of Engineers. Word was that is when Dumas first saw her and decided to model her.

Nice job Robert! Have you built the Tuna Clipper yet? After watching your builds I highly recommend it. I am currently finishing the hull and although challenging at times, the skills and experience from the kit is totally worth it.

Great looking build. I'm gonna probably order one of these. I DEFINITELY want to add as many detail accessories as possible. Lights. Of course. Rotating radar and guns. Deck gear and details. But do You know of anyone who makes scale details in this scale?

I would start with Loyalhanna Dockyard out of Bergen, NY. The details that come with the kit are pretty good but I did add small gear motors for the radar and two main guns. I also used Robbe railing posts for the railing instead of soldering. Much faster and cleaner looking.
