There will be a debate and vote on Rishi Sunak's bill, aiming to create the UK's first smoke-free generation by preventing young people born since 2009 from ever smoking.
The Tobacco and Vapes Bill prohibits those turning 15 this year from buying cigarettes and seeks to reduce the appeal of vapes to children.
While some Tory MPs oppose the bill, Conservative MPs will have a free vote, but it's expected to pass with Labour's support.
The bill would make selling tobacco products illegal, addressing the UK's leading preventable cause of death, responsible for 80,000 deaths annually.
England's chief medical officer, Professor Sir Chris Whitty, supports the ban, stating the loss of choice once individuals become addicted to smoking.
Julia Hartley-Brewer speaks with the Head of IPPR’s Commission On Health and Prosperity, Chris Thomas.
