I have a painting of a fox that my ex painted for me. She was a very talented artist and it’s a really good painting. I tried to give it back to her but she wouldn’t accept it and said it was mine as she made it for me. So I kept it and it’s been hanging on my wall for almost 8 years now after our split.

Might change my answer if I remember something stranger, but I kept it for years until a friend of mine who was helping me throw stuff out got me to throw it away (I had moved away to go to school and also forgot about it) it was a sealed glass jar of something preserved his mom made that she gave to me, I don’t even know what it was. 😅

I've actually been to that museum a month ago. It's pretty small, but if you're interested in humanity and the small stories of the world, it's perfect

the 'i can make you thin' book made me laugh, i''m guesing that particular relationship ended when that book was given :D This is just the strangest idea, i honestly don't know anyone that would want to be reminded of their break-ups, or contemplate other people's, but that's just me.

I think it’s closure for them. The ritual of packing up the grief or rage or misery and literally sending it away can lift a great psychological weight from them. And their story can remind someone going through a similar experience that they aren’t alone & someone across the globe might have a tip to help them out. May not work for everyone but I can see how it would help some.

This is such a touching concept and I am really glad Olinka and Dražen have made a conscious effort to display and preserve what I like to call “small scale history” (objects from relatively recent history that belonged to or were mostly accessed by common people). Most of these items were probably picked out with great care and are very meaningful to the people who donated them, despite that meaning having changed over time. It’s an honour that these people chose to share something so deeply personal from their lives and I cherish the opportunity this gives us to connect over part of the human experience through them.

It's worth a visit if you are in Zagreb, it's quirky but beautiful in the way it shares our human experiences in relationships.

Oh my god, I’ve known about this place for years. I’ve wanted to donate something of an ex of mine and visit as well, as I thought it would help me find some sense of peace. That’s so funny this showed up today, I was thinking about this yesterday.

I remember being in that museum in YEARS ago. Very small and back then they offered free electric fans where you plug them on your cellphone! One that stuck around with me was that friendship ring. Unfortunately they never met each other again.

You really need to proof-read the subtitles. It's clear they're just voice recognition without anyone even giving them a glance. Some parts are just atrocious: for instance 3:32 "to get rid" becomes "to get married", or at 0:17, whatever happened with the names of the founders. It's making the subtitles very hard to use for non-hearing English speakers, and basically unusable for people who use the translation option because of the misinterpretations, the absence of punctuation, and the subtitles being cut mid sentences.

It somehow looked to me as though they just took the KZitem auto-generated subtitles and clicked 'save' without actually proofreading them.
