Unfortunately, I had to sell my Marin Indian Fire Trail over twenty years ago. A realy nice bike back then. Now I'm looking for an eMTB and the E2 is definitely my favourite. Hopefully it will be available in Germany in April as announced so I don't have to switch to an alternative. Fingers crossed...

Ive still got my indian fire trail from 10 years ago. Its the 2014 model and it absolutely flies with the 30spd gear set. They dont make bikes with lots of gear range these days

Great Video ! The Alpine Trail E2 is the best Ebike without a doubt for an intermediate budget Rider . As a Marin Dealer in Panama I have the privilege to own one (the 2022 Grey Colour) and enjoy it for a full year until one customer made me a good offer . The 2023 Model comes in a Mohave Colour that is also looks Rad , but preserves the same geometry and great components from the 2022 version . God , I am missing my Alpine Trail E2 and this Video is pushing me to buy the current version .

Just ordered the 2022 e2, and I can't wait for it to be delivered. I can see that the e13 cranks have been swapped with shimano ones. Do you recommend swapping the ones on the 2022 bike when I receive it? Apparently, there is an issue with e13 cranks paired with the shimano ep8 motor!
@marin_bikes
Жыл бұрын
Hi - we made a running change to Shimano cranks at some point, but the e*13 cranks are still a great option in our eyes. No need to swap out. Enjoy your new bike!

So does the E2 come with Shimano or TRP brakes?? Maxxis or Vee tyres??

Looks like Sundance cassette too. Used to be a Shimano. Wonder how those trp brakes compare to Shimano it used to have. New controller looks a bit meh too

We are doing our best to keep supply chain flowing. This means that some substitutions have to be made on certain production runs. Please check with your dealer as to what the bikes they have on the shop floor have on them. Please Note: we do not substitute for anything we don't believe in and have extensively tested.

So I have the Alpine trail e1 2022 with the 504w battery which is crap lucky to get 23miles in eco. Will the 630w battery fit my bike?
@marin_bikes
Жыл бұрын
Hi Tom - the frame of the 2022 AT E1 cannot accommodate the larger 604Wh battery.

@@marin_bikes right I see, so these newer models have a bigger frame then? Was hoping I could upgrade as my battery range is terrible with everything set at lowest setting
@marin_bikes
Жыл бұрын
@@pegasusmtbcoachinginstruct7360 Correct, the 2023s all utilize a frame that accepts the larger battery, mainly because the Gen 2 Shimano batteries use the same form factor between the two capacities.

Nice review. What's the difference between the EP8 and EP6 motors.. would the weight savings of the 500Wh battery on the lower spec model make up for the lower powered EP5 motor?
@marin_bikes
Жыл бұрын
The weight savings is rather negligible in the grand scheme of things (300g). You can read more about the Shimano powertrains here: ebike-mtb.com/en/shimano-news-2023-ep801-motor-new-ep6-motor-xt-di2-electronic-shifting/

I'm 175cm 5'9 with about 180cm 5'10 arm span. I'm wondering what size i should get M or L? I'm currently on a 2019 Scott Spark 900 large but it seems this bike has a longer reach in M.

When one is on the bubble (like yours truly), it really comes down to personal preference. As one who is on the bubble between L and XL, I tend to go with a larger frame based on the trails I ride and having long legs, but can ride our L frames just as well.
