Wow, I’m a musician and I didn’t even recognize that that was a cello. The way she plays it and the way it is mixed, it almost sounds a bit like a woodwind. I feel like there has to be a woodwind in there somewhere somewhere backing up that cello part. Great info, there were a few moments in the soundtrack when I got Wonder Woman theme vibes. I don’t like those movies but her theme is awesome.

People keep getting mad at me when I say that these films are basically the Science Fiction equivalent to Lord of the Rings. The Lord of the rings are my favorite movies ever and nothing will ever touch them! It’s like they think I’m disparaging them by praising this movie. No, as much as I love this, I don’t view it as epic as Lord of the rings, but those movies came out when I was a young teenager so they had a big impact. But it is a fact that this is the greatest world building in Science Fiction cinema of all time. So I think the comparison to Lord of the rings is totally fair. The only science fiction trilogy that people love that much is Star Wars, but Star Wars isn’t science fiction it’s fantasy.

I think eventually we will think of AI as an extension of our own abilities. A song made from our own minds takes time and effort but can result in masterpieces like this. Two remarks. 1) That love theme has a certain Celtic feel to it. It would sound MARVELOUS on the bagpipes. Note that “Caladan” sounds a lot like “Caledonia.” The culture the Atreides embody can trace their lineage back to the Romanized Celts, who were the heirs of the ancient, tragic Homeric myths and the source of the King Arthur legends. 2) Paul’s worm scene feels like watching Laird Hamilton riding one of those giant waves. Superbly done.
