small suggestion, react to the trailer all the way thru, just watch it, then give it a rewatch and break it down, much more enjoyable for the viewer, cheers

Good suggestion. Except then I would get a copyright strike and wouldn't be able to upload the video in the first place. You can't re-upload content you don't own rights to without adding "additional value" or "commentary" for critical or educational purposes. If you want to watch the whole trailer without interruption then feel free to check out the full video on the Warner Bros channel.

Ok. Great reaction. You guys know what you are talking about in the technical fields. But there is a line you speak. After the scene of Paul and Chani talking about being equal. Austin says..... "it's not in the book, but............ ". Well there were scenes of Paul and Chani alone in the book. So it does not stand out as being foreign. But then a bit later you guys say Austin did not read the book???? So he is commenting on a scene and says it is not in a book he has not read? I was a bit lost there. Some of the book had to be condensed. Some of it had to be fleshed out. The Sci-fy series had a similar scene with the "couple" out in the dessert. When Chani explained a lot of the lore of her people. Same setting and jist as the scene in this movie.

When editing the video we had to cut, for sake of time, when Owen (who has read the book) told Austin (who hasn't read the book) that Paul and Chani kissing on the dune wasn't in the book. That's when Austin said "It's not in the book, but I'm here for it!". Thanks for sharing your feedback 🤙🏽

I have loved the book since a teenager. However they can't help themselves can they. Chani? Oh we can't have her being a wife and mother. No, she has to be all girl boss and the greatest human being to ever live is left to reload her bazooka and beg to be her equal. What a load of bollocks

Are you saying the original source material paints Chani as a more traditional women with more conservative principles then this movies more liberal interpretation?
@PorkBellyFutures

@alphafilmco it's not so much traditional as I wouldn't use that word with its modern connotations to upset certain groups. She is very strong, intelligent and resourceful. However the women in the book are placed in a hidden seitch out of harms way. They already changed some parts of the 1st book. She gives him tips on how to fight Jamis. In the movie she is disdainful of his chances. In the 2nd part she is not on the battlefield, she is not fighting Sardukar on the plain whilst he screams her name. He is tactically aware yet she is giving him orders. I am just worried we are goj g down the disney boss girl route. It will still be a great movie

You are bending reality. Chani was a warrior in the book. She met Paul in the Desert with the other Fremen Warriors. Not in a kitchen or a bedroom or a nursery. You are warping a great story to your antiquated political views. Herbert made all the Women in this book ..... Strong leaders. Jessica changed the Universe with just one decision. And the Bene Gesserit , who are all Women. Actually controlled everything from the "shadows'. That is the REAL Dune. Not some 50's view of the subordinate "housewife" you picture in your mind. Re-read the Damn book.

@donny1960 dear donny. I think you have taken it the wrong way. You have immediately gone down the identity politics route. Which is what I was worried about. The book was written in the 60s by the way so giving me grief about 50s housewives is lame and lazy. What I meant was changes to the storyline. They got married and had a child. She wasn't fighting g the Sardukar on the front line at any time. They were moving g through the desert at the time. She and the other women were held back whilst Paul fought a guerilla war. Yes all the fremen were warriors but it is clear from the trailer that she is now a Disney Rey girl boss and Paul is somehow less, reloading her bazooka like a simp. I ha e read the book many many times. So you get back to your gender studies class and leave me alone. Cheers

@donny1960 did they get married and have a child in the book? Were she and the child taken to a seitch out of the way? She only returned to see Paul,on Jessica's orders when he was in a "coma" The point I was making is that a modern identity political view is warping the story. That's all. If you look at my comment I said she was strong intelligent and resourceful. Because you are trapped in an ideology and probably a bed wetter you couldn't handle it. So answer my questions about their marriage and child and why it has been removed. Why are women told that being married and raising a family is considered beneath them nowadays. Why do you consider it beneath them.
