@@andrewdouglas1963 Hi. You seem a little late to the party, replying to a 7 month old post. The fact you think that the creation of something from nothing is a core atheist belief suggests that you don't really understand atheism. When you say 'substantial evidence' exists what are we talking about? Do you mean there is evidence that people who call themselves Christians and believe in God are real, or do you mean evidence of a historical Jesus? Incidentally there seems to be a fair bit of healthy debate there. I could go either way on it, and I'm happy for people to label me an atheist if they feel the need. Or, do you mean evidence that the God of the Bible actually exists and Jesus was his son and performed miracles? If it's that last one, I'd really like to see that evidence. @@IainStewart1972 Thankfully there are no time constraints on KZitem for commenting. I've engaged in some fantastic discussions on KZitem from posts nearly 10 years old. I believe I am correct that materialism is a core atheist belief. For materialism to be all there is, something literally must come from nothing. That takes remarkable amounts of faith which most people don't possess. Evidence that Jesus performed miracles and rose from the dead can be found in the biblical new testament. Biblical historians and scholars are in broad agreement that there is no good reason not to believe the claims of the miracles are true.

They don't have much of a good choice yes SF is appealing to the younger generations by being progressive there not perfect but no party is but they stepped up and they recognised that religion whilst is important is not the centre of things anymore and yes they still are very pronationalist but they aren't anti Protestant they maybe against the union but they don't hate the people the hate the idiolagy the dup on the other hand chose not to be progressive and chose not to adapt with the current times and I'm not saying there anti Catholic but they don't have much going to persuade people based on a political margin We're as SF and the alliance can draw votes not only from traditional methods of religion on identity but political beliefs and policies

40+ years I had dealings with Dr No (RIP) on constituency matters, over coffee he stated that NI (Ulster) had lost it's economic & military value to London and that his hardline stance was to give him room to negotiate the best deal for Ulster after we were betrayed by a Labour Government.

I am not British (or Irish) and no particaulr friend off the Northen Ireland loyalists. But what are you doing? Asking for Brexit despite the Ni poulation being agiants it and accepting (voting for) a Brexit agreement making NI customswise divided from the rest off the UK. An epic misstake. In reality NI is now in some aspects in the same costums/economical zone as Eire and not the UK. AND YOU WANTED AND HELP ESTABLISHING THIS?

Arlene was a great woman and they got rid of her because she isn’t sectarian enough for their tastes. Even when she tried to explain that Protestants were entering a minority phase in regard to: Catholics, Agnostics, Atheists, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and on and on in NI and they needed to concentrate on the U.K. benefits over Independence or Irish unification, as religious beliefs were now too divergent. The DUP don’t get it. Bunch of bigots. Ian Paisley got it in the end. Separation of religion and politics is essential now.

Anything about the OZ trade agreement destroying UK farming this year? Enjoy your lamb, beef and country side as long as it lasts. I wonder if in that 0.02% GDP increase in 15 years the disappearance of UK farming was included. Cheap acres anyone? Landscape protection can also go out of the window shortly as there won be any farmers left. Farmers should see the benefits! They now have the opportunity to shovel sand and pick fruit for a pittance. Together with the SME's, fishermen, steel workers, car workers, etc.

I don't begin to understand the outworking of Stormont but I feel very let down by all the parties. Why oh why is a wee thing like an Irish language act (a few people in the west of Ireland speak), certainly none of our current nationalist ministers speak. Why is this nonsense going to bring down Stormont? Surely to goodness we have more pressing problems to solve, ie the Health Service, it's on its knees, it was before Covid. The education system, housing, and so many more. I don't understand how one party can hold all the other parties over a barrel about such a trivial thing as a language act. I really don't. The way see it, if you don't accept the Irish language thing we throw our toys out of the pram! Boo Hoo! Get over yourselves. There are so many more important things to do in this country. People don't care about the Irish language thing, they just want Stormont to get on and do what you are paid to do by the taxpayer.
