Exploring Medieval England's Heart - Durham Cathedral and Market Place.
This video is the first where I talk through and give a better insight into my journey, rather than simply video, music, and text prompts. This is a learning curve for me, so I will, hopefully, improve as I make more content.
This visit was to the City of Durham, where I walk around the historic market place, talking about the Market Tavern, Market Hall, statues, and surrounding buildings, before making my way up Owengate to Palace Green and the Cathedral.
I spend a good hour or more inside the Cathedral to film, but also take time to see all that there is on offer. It is a truly remarkable building, which I hope comes across in the video.
There are steps in the building but also lifts, so it is accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs. I would visit there website for more information, but I know that there is a lift leading to the café and gift shop, as well as the outside toilets.
I hope you have enjoyed this video, and I welcome any comments or pieces of advice for future videos. At this moment in time, this is a fairly new channel, so I am learning as I go, and want to make my videos enjoyable, funny, and informative.
If you have been to the City of Durham, or even just to the Cathedral itself, I would love to know about your experience.
Update: I have been told that the wooden sculpture in the Cathedral is called the Pieta carving by Fenwick Lawson.
Thank you so much for watching.
