Who would have thought a video about an industrial sewing machine could be so beautiful to watch!

I spent a month trying to operate my new Adler 969 and only after watching your 205 video could I get things straightened out. I am extremely thankful for your video, you're doing a great service. It is hard to watch your video and read the text at the same time but at least all the info is there. Weaver was useless, they didn't setup the machine correctly and had no support. Thank you very much, I owe you.

I love it, "Ignore this knob from now on". By wrapping the thread twice around the middle tension unit, the upper tension unit controls the tension much like your hand does when you are rappelling ( I have seen videos... I have wrapped a kite line around a dowel when it is pulling too hard ... same thing). Thank for the great Video Uwe .. ps. I always enjoy the music.

Mr. Grosse, a most excellent presentation and tutorial. I own the 205-370, which I just shipped back to our home. I am in the process of configuring the Efka setting with light barrier and pneumatics. I am not certain where I placed my manual for the EFKA control box, however, do you know if there is an EFKA tutorial? Thank you Mr. Grosse!!!

www.efka-drives.de/index.php?id=30&L=1 is a good starting point for finding EFKA manuals. I also heard you can just call them up and they'll help you sort things out.

That's outstanding to hear. The 205-370 is a great machine but it's very hard to find people that can work on it-- a service video could solve 85% of the frustrated calls that Weaver gets!

Thank you so much for making this well done video! I bought this same machine in the late 90s from Weaver. The instructions that came with it were almost unreadable and the video that Weaver made was nowhere near as informative as yours! Looking forward to watching the Service Guide! Thank you SO much! Oh, where can I buy the smooth feet, throat plate and needle spacers???

Uwe - is there a possibility that bad timing on these machines could cause frequent thread breaks? Working with a 967H and it seems that our shuttle hook is not timed like the 205 shown here. But I also believe our needle thread tension is far too high even when the adjustments are backed off completely.
@UweXY

Lots of things can cause thread breakage, it’s hard to tell what adjustment might be wrong unless you’re sitting in front of the machine. Luckily, your DA 967 H-Type has really good documentation available, including service manuals: www.duerkopp-adler.com/en/main/downloads/index.html?action=search&prop0=%2Fcommons%2Fdownload%2Fpublic%2F967/

Mr. Grosse, I am refurbishing an adler 105-64, can you tell me if there is any information out there that can be used as a guide for this model? Thank you so much for these videos.

The only information I have on the Adler 105 is a parts list (docs.uwe.net/Adler-105-Parts.pdf) and a collection of user manuals for the Adler 104/105 classes (docs.uwe.net/Adler-104-105-Manuals.pdf). Those manuals may be a good starting point.

Used originals in nice condition and new copies/clones run about $3,000-$,3500. Durkopp Adler stopped making the 205 series in 2010. Several manufacturers still make copies/clones (e.g Cowboy CB205, KingMax GA 205, HighTex 205-370, etc. )
