I put the same one on mine about a year ago and love it. My question is how do you keep that classic car from getting covered with dust. I use to park my truck inside when I was using half the garage and one week it would be covered with dust.

I usually have a well-fitted car cover over it, as you can see in most of my earlier videos. We just had some early warm spring weather here in the Chicago area, so I've taken advantage of that to drive the car.

Is there a better modification you can make for the bottom? Like a trashcan with a seal or something? I just can't shake the feeling that a plastic bag like that is a big potential leak.
@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop

Most dust collectors use a plastic bag as that can be removed, sealed, tossed and new bag installed. But sure, you can rig up anything.

Check out Stumpy Nubs video #58: he does a simple mod to the bottom bag in addition to adding the top filter. I think it’s what you have in mind.

There's no leak between the filter and the metal drum? I would think you need a gasket there.

There is HF Coupon app that I installed where you can set alerts when specific things go on sale. So I waited until it let me know that the Dust Collector has on sale, and then I called around to the stores in the area and found one in stock and had them hold it for me, as they pretty much sell out instantly when they go on sale. Good luck!

When I look at the Wynn filters there are two Merv 15 - one with a removable end cap (25B222) and one with a closed end cap (35C222). Looks like your is the closed end cap one? Do you know what the difference is? Thanks.
@TheSuburbanGarageWorkshop

It's just that, one has a fixed end cap the other removable one. If probably for different applications. I ordered the fixed end cap as I figured one less spot to worry about leaks!

I just cleaned my 35 273 merv 10 wynn qith closed top. Its not easy. If i was to do it again i would get open top. Lay 89$ harbor freight axial fan in top and then blow from outside with shop vac. Wearing dust mask. It is smaller dia but still large sq ft number

I have no idea if the size is the same. I'd call Wynn and ask them. They should know or me able to recommend the correct one.

I've had a Wynn filter installed on my HF dust collector for over 10 years now. It's a great investment. I'd like to offer a caution on using the Donaldson air filter instead of the Wynn. Yes, they are less money and I'm sure Donaldson makes a quality filter. The caution is filters are generally directional. The filter should be mounted so the airflow is moving in the proper direction for the filter to work properly. The Donaldson filter is designed for the dirty air to be drawn from the outside of the canister, with the cleaned air exiting from the center (and into the air intake of the motor). The air moves in the opposite direction in a dust collector -- from the center to the outside of the canister. Does this mean that the Donaldson air filter won't work for a DC? I don't know. All I know is it wasn't designed to have the air flow in that direction, while the Wynn filter was.

Works fine for me and 1000s of other folks as an affordable option to get started. Which I covered in my other video. As I stated in that video, you should buy the best dust collection system that you can afford. Thanks for your feedback
