ESA’s Mars Express captured dust clouds near the north polar ice cap of Mars in April 2018. The colour image was created using data from the nadir channel, the field of view of which is aligned perpendicular to the surface of Mars, and the colour channels of the high-resolution stereo camera.
The 3D image (red-green or red-blue glasses required) was derived from data acquired by the nadir channel and the stereo channels on board Mars Express. The ground resolution is approximately 16 m/pixel and the images are centred at about 78°N/106°E.
