One of my favorite acceptance speeches of all time. The greater the actor, the greater his humility. His ‘we are all in this together attitude’ reflects on his decency as an individual and as an artist. Although actors often are in competition with one another, they basically all go through the same agonizing process of being prepared for years for an opportunity that may not come. That is why I respect the acting profession so very much. And I am one of those audience members who wish I had the capability and gutsiness to do the same. Behind all the hoopla, glitz and often phony glamour, are some very real people who are truly gifted.

None of the kids growing up in this age, where their lives revolve around social media and instant gratification, will be able to grasp the point made in this speech. Fame and self-recognition means nothing without the selfless acts made by the people behind the scenes. In light of this statement, thank you mom and dad for sacrificing your futures so that I could have mine.

Such a nice presentation by the lady and such honest and humble words from the winner.this is hardly seen in oscars these days, where time management and artificiality takes over human emotions.... RIP genuineness in this new era.... Long live the legacy of kramer vs kramer...
