I'm from Pakistan 🇵🇰. I used to have this pen back in my school days. I preferred this pen for writing Urdu. You should check Dollar pens too that is also a Pakistani brand.

I am Pakistani. I used to write with this pen all my childhood...these pens are very good and better then parkers when it comes to writing 30 to 40 pages a day.....and you can buy several pens for few dollars only. Dux's has some other models as well they are a local brand and yes they copy famous branded pens. But look at the quality they offer . These are basically pens for students.🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰.

I have been using this pen back in the early 90s when I was in school. It's actually made by Hero company in China. There used to be two types of hero pens. The other pen was comparatively slim with a long nib.

I haven't watched this yet. I'm saving it until tonight but I love the idea of featuring pens from around the world. I have a personal conviction about buying pens from China but it means that I haven't been able to buy many pens recently because pens from other countries are so expensive. I'd love to hear about some less expensive (even as high as $50-60) options from other countries. Thanks so much for continuing to post. I love your videos.

We used these all the way through 5th grade in Pakistan. Cursive was still heavily emphasized and it was felt that "ball point" pens were not conducive to good handwriting. However, giving small children ink pens caused quite a havoc throughout our school days! There were heightened "pen ink throwing" fights in school! LOL!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Once in a while, even our teachers were not spared! We would come home with black/blue ink squirts on out white uniform shirts only to receive a sound whipping at home! Our fingertips were perpetually colored by the ink. Great memories! Keyboards have made handwriting anything almost obsolete.

Mine had a good, smooth nib. It's definitely a cheap pen. I'm wondering, what would you say are the typical fail points on the Dux?
@MechFrankaTLieu
3 жыл бұрын
I hate to disappoint you, but this is actually a Hero 240 rebranded and DUX is a sub brand Hero had and still had , you can find DUX pens and ink today , its primarily student stationary side. China and Parkistan had long been doing a lot of trade and many Chinese pens were and are exported there and they had a healthy local market for that. The use of the DUX brand clearly indicate this is for the export market cause the same pen always branded Hero , that nib / feed mechanism was used by Hero 121, 240, Wing Sung 701, 765 and a couple other lesser known models. That nib is commonly referred to as a Delta nib or a Duck Bill nib in its home country , the rational behind that nib is about trying to find the easiest to be manufactured easy to assembly open nib but stay somewhat within the old feed mechanism Hero had in the hooded nib. This nib use the same thin rod feed ( with a shaped part that the nib fit into indexed ) and separate ink collector. On this pen its Aerometric, but on some other pen its C/C fill And finally Hero and Wing Sing also offer 12K of the same nib in some of their models, they are all 1980's up to 1990's , no idea about the export market though.

No one came up with the Wing Sung yet? It's the 765 and actually a nice looking pen. It is silver with gold trim. I got mine as part of a 10 pack of old Wing Sungs from ebay seller Jewelry Mathematics. They range from horrible to pretty good. Many have the conical nibs. The few very scratchy ones can be smoothed out with some patience. I like Wing Sungs and I'm starting to get a pretty good collection, new and old. I had to have both the Wing Sung and Hero with the weird triangular nibs. This Dux pen by the way, is a Hero 240. They are exactly the same. I know that Hero licensed Green Stationery to make Wing Sungs. The 600 numbered ones are theirs. It is possible that the Hero 240 was licensed to Dux in Pakistan. I don't know how i missed your world-wide collection. I will check those out.

@@JG3Reviews I can't say exactly. I heard that Dux are made by Hero, but I can't confirm. I know that the same case happens with other models; the Hero 221 (another interesting nib, which you should check out) and the Hero 266; respectively Dux 221 and DUx 266 ...

@@JG3Reviews You'll find "Hero Dux" ink on ebay - it's not unlikely Hero manufacture Dux's pens as well. (Written before my eye had strayed to Mech Franka's comment!)
