Really good game! 1. Shieldwalls are a tough nut to crack as they ignore first kill for each group in each round of combat. 2. Leaders can only activate themselves and troops once per turn. 3. Champion stays with lord to protect him. You can choose to put any hits the lord takes on your champion instead. 4. Remember to reduce forward movement by 1 inch for each point of shock. 5. Remember to always restock your hand of cards by picking up a card after each leader takes his turn. Paying for a card at the beginning of a leaders turn is not always good as it uses valuable initiative points that can be spent better by removing shock or activating more groups. 6. Using levy in a three group mass formation and a good hand of cards can really give them some punch. The lord nearby can also help to remove shock from them. I noticed you appeared to be using your British lord as a level 1 leader and not his normal level 3? Playing the 'Hero of the age' card in combat would have allowed him 6 dice ;) Do you have the 'Dux Rules Clarification pdf'? I don't mean the Faq. These clear up a lot of issues.

@@MrVuvuzaala KZitem as usual won't let me post a link. So go to the Toofatlardies forum. In the Dux Britanniarum section look for the topic called 'The compendium, rules clarification-request for comment' The dropbox link is there ;)

Appreciate it! Slowly painting up my Late roman force for Hail Caesar and other "big battle" rulesets, but giving how slow I paint could be awhile. Definitely going to continue using them for skirmish games though!

@@RedBeardBaron Well they look incredible. The battle lines in this game looked really good as well, still an impressive skirmish.
