Yes!!!!! I’m shopping for a countertop to update my old vanity to accommodate a “free” vessel sink that I was given!! Everything is $300-$600 bucks!!!! I am going to tile a piece of plywood and use it as a countertop…kinda following your instructions!! Wish me luck!!

One little strip of LED lights around the base and I think it would take it to another level.

Good job on your DYI. That chrome tube aka part as you called it (6:42 time mark) is called a tail piece. The adaptor is a tail piece adaptor. Only thing Different on this nice install I would have sealed the recycled press wood that you drilled through while you still had the tape on. Water causes press wood aka mfd boards to swell if it comes into contact.

Next time you can thin it out witg water if using water base and mineral spirits if used oil base so you can easily apply a thin layer smooth on top

Personally i would angled the faucet on to the back side so that you can wash your face in the sink easily but thanks for the video

Once your hands are under the flow of water, there must be some (a lot) of splashback on the Vanity top and floor with the faucet angled to the side like that.

grab yourself some nice border ceramic tile and put it on where the back splash was. Prevents matching paint and gives your bathroom a nice finished look. Only a couple of rows is needed. ;-)

Thanks for the video? Is your vessel sink not moving? What do you recommend so it does not move?
@slipperynoodlez
2 жыл бұрын
It does move a bit if I put a bit of force into turning it. For me, the rubber gasket helps a bit.

Great video! What is the size on your P-trap? The metal pipe that comes with the sink is smaller than my 1.5" P trap connection. Did you have this problem or is your P-trap the same size as the metal pipe?
@slipperynoodlez
3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! My P-trap extender is also a 1.5". Link here: www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-1-2-in-x-12-in-White-Plastic-Slip-Joint-Sink-Drain-Tailpiece-Extension-Tube-C9793A/205154109. When I tightened the slip-joint nut onto the silver piece, the rubber gasket made a very tight seal. Is that not occurring with your setup?

How did you mount the wood top to the cabinet? With glue, screws?

Hi there. I used small metal L brackets with screws.
@mr.mathewson1350

How tall was the actual cabinet? Most vanities are now 33.5" tall, plus the counter top height and a vessel is approximately 6" tall making the sink too high in the end. That's my issue right now lol
@slipperynoodlez
3 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I'm sorry about that. To the top of my counter is 32", the vessel sits 6" above for a total height of 38". I'm guessing that would be more difficult for children to access?
@mr.mathewson1350

@@slipperynoodlez Yeh after research I found that the average height WITH the sink should be at 36 or less but no higher. Thanks!

If you look for "faucet fittings" or "supply line adapter" on Amazon, you should get some hits! Here is an example: www.amazon.com/PackCompression-Fitting-Reducer-Plumbing-Connector/dp/B0BFL28VCX. You'll just need to know what sizes you're trying to convert to. Hope this helps!
