I watched like 5 of your videos back to back. They're so calming. You're very under rated. I found my new garden channel to binge watch thank you! Amazing work of art with plants 👨🌾

The chirping birds are making it more zen! Must admit, I cringed a little when you clipped one of those branches. Beautiful as always.

What are your thoughts on hard pruning the roots while repotting? Do you trim off the tuber shaped roots??

Dwarf jades are ok to hard prune in the growing season. Yes I do trim off the tap root too when needed.

@TheUrbanNemophilist i did a hard root pruning on a PA about a month ago. Its still pouting and hasn't shown any new growth.

Portulacaria is a succulent. You should not water it after all of that work. I keep mine dry for at least a week. All of those wounds are susceptible to rot from moisture. They need to dry and callus over. The whole tree is full of water, it's a succulent.

That’s true. However this work was done at my hometown during my visit where conditions are very hot and dry. These trees have adapted to the climate. They need good hydration there and are thriving. The tree is growing well and I hope to do an update in about 6 to 8 months time.

@@TheUrbanNemophilist oh yeah, I see. I'm here in a tropical climate, humid, and pretty frequent rain. I have to be careful or my ardenium will rot.

If this is intended to be a bonsai leaving branches on the trunk line with help thicken the trunk as the branch will cause sugar swelling and will help add movement to the trunk as well.

Yes the sacrificial trunk as bonsai creators like to call them.
