Dwight Clark is a great man. I hate that he's going through this. I pray that there'll be a day when such terrible diseases like this will be a distant memory. God bless you, Mr. Clark! I've never been a fan of the 49er's (I'm a Cowboys fan in the Bay Area); however, I am a fan of great men. You're a great man. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

When I was a child, my father brought me to a 49er’s exhibition basketball game in Seaside, CA. It was a mix of current players and 49er greats like John Taylor and Dwight Clark. It was in our local high school gym. My father was battling cancer at the time and his spirits were a bit down. The game was fun and lighthearted. Half way through the game, Dwight dove out of bounds for the ball and landed in the stands crashing into my father. Playfully, Dwight got up, sat next to my dad, put his arm around him, and asked how his day was? How were the Nachos? What he likes to do for fun in Monterey? They chatted for a few minutes. Then Dwight says “nice talking to ya, I guess I better get back to the game.” And he went back to it. My dad, who was very ill at the time, had the biggest smile on his face, looked at me and just said,”that was so cool!!!!” I appreciate Dwight being kind to my father who was going through a rough time. Dwight didn’t know anything about it. He was just being a really nice guy. Class act. Thank you. I hope somebody brings you some joy to help you make it through your battle like you did for my father. Much love and best wishes.

I never met him, but I remember him well starting in 1981 when he made the catch. He was the epitome of cool, a great player, and a successful executive. RIP.
