Thanks for the video. I like how you setup your anchor in spots that were actually behind line of site, even though the documentation states to provide the best quality keep inside line of site. I like your 18650 setup, makes a nice package. It does not appear the demo provides 3d (z-axis) scaling, however, having the anchors at different height levels would assume if you figure out the TOF algorithm you could provide z-axis distances. Is the layout you show on the phone software that came with the dev kits (and you just laid your floor drawing ontop of it)? Also, appreciate you using more than 3 devices to show us how are providing hand-offs to each anchor as you walk the floor

Hey Henry, glad that the video was useful to you! The intent of this setup was to try and position the anchors in a regular indoor space that wasn't built to accommodate those (much like any real house/apartment). Thus I was able to see how the DWMs perform in an environment that wasn't perfectly sculpted for them. The location engine algorithm on the chip actually calculates Z coordinate as well - it's just not visible in the mobile app's Grid view. The layout is 100% improvised - I started off with an empty grid, laid my floor plan over it, then though of the most optimal and non-invasive anchor positions, put'em there and manually measured the offset from the (0,0,0) coordinate (lower left corner of the floor plan, a single point right on the floor).

There's an interesting toggle in the mobile app (and the chip, too, I assume) that improves positioning when moving between anchors: decaforum.decawave.com/t/tags-and-responsive-mode/11244 . This is something I tested as well - and I must admit I didn't notice any dramatic improvements when it was on vs. off. Although it was turned on for the filming :)

Hi, i found your video doing some research for my colleage degree project and i was wondering if all that you are using are DWM1001-DEV boards and if so, how do they come ? Do they come pre configured for the app that you need or you need to configure them by coding them ? And what application can i use for configuring them ? I am asking this questions because i want to purchase some of DWM1001-DEV boards adn i don't want to buy them just to realize they are not what i need.

I like your video. However, I don't understand how you setup the detail test environment. Where did you get the mobile application? is there a IOT server required for data consolidation?

Hi, Thank you for your video. It is very helpful to get the concept of RTLS. Two questions 1. what is the maximum range an anchor can detect a tag in line of sight? Have you tested that? 2. The anchors and tags have their default antennas or have you added some signal amplifier? Thank you for your time and effort!

Hey! Glad you liked it! Now, to answer your questions: 1) No, unfortunately I didn't perform more extensive tests. All I did was notice that performance (i.e. an optimal range of distance between anchors and tags where they work with minimal errors) seems to differ on different days, although the setup never seemed to change. No idea why it happened though. 2) Nope, all antennas are default.

@@VadimPanovYo Thank you for your immediate reply! Have you tried to re-program the anchors somehow? I ask you because I am searching for code and commands for the decawave chip to start playing :)

@@lefteriskostoulas I've used decawave's RTLS code (already downloaded as hex) exactly because I'm no good at embedded coding :) I believe you could start by trying to find decawave's code samples, maybe they even shared their RTLS code?

@@VadimPanovYo Yes I will do that. Again, Thanks Vadim!
