@@juniorlocczmy honest review: I feel luke warm about this kit. It did significantly darken my light blue jeans but they are not BLACK. I used a whole container and left it for about one hour. They are now a very very dark blue. Perhaps if I did it once more it would be black? Seems excessive. Also: the texture of my jeans has changed. They are now rougher and stiffer. So although I do like my jeans better than before, I probably wouldn’t do this again - especially with new clothing I cared about, because it degraded the feeling of the cloth. I think this would work best on old black jeans that have faded and can use a refresh. Hope this helps!

Did u reuse the same water with the dye in it when u added the fixitive or did u use fresh new water then add the fixative?
@Fernando5455Jr
4 ай бұрын
Kind of unclear from the video, but I do know once you’re done with the initial dye bath, you’re supposed to get a separate container of hot water with the color stay dye mix. Then transfer the newly dyed clothing to the 2nd container and mix the clothing for 20 more minutes. Then afterwards take the clothing and rinse with cold water until the water comes clear.
@akuma4u
4 ай бұрын
@@Fernando5455Jr thanks. When I'm done with the initial black dye bath, do I immediately transfer to the new colorstay dye bath or do I ring the black dye and water out of the clothes first by hand then put it in the new bath?
@Fernando5455Jr
4 ай бұрын
@@akuma4u Here are the revised instructions: Immediately transfer the just-dyed clothing to the second container with the color stay mix without wringing it. It's perfectly normal and all right if the color bleeds into the new container water; this is supposed to happen. Mix it for 20 minutes, remove the clothing from the second container, and rinse it in cold water until it clears. Finally, wring out the last of the water from the clothes and put them into the wash with only detergent and warm water. For example, if dyeing two pairs of black Levi's pants, include a clean old white towel in the wash. This way, if there's any lingering color bleeding, the white towel will absorb it. Then, dry the clothing as normal.
@Fernando5455Jr

@@akuma4u Just a reminder: The hotter the water, the better for the dyeing process. I use something called the stove-top method. I fill a large metal container with water and heat it until it's almost boiling. I always make sure to stir before it reaches that point.

I don’t think so according to the manufacturer bleach stains are actual damage to the fabrics. Unlike simple fading a color. Although it may help.

What would happen if I did this to black clothes with white text or logos? Colored text or logs? I have so many cool black rock and metal band t-shirts, but the black is so faded! If it just makes a darker version, i.e. white turns to grey/faded black, reds and pinks turns into burgandy, etc. That would be cool. If it all just turns black, but you can still see the the logos in certain lighting or when close up, that will be cool too. But if it just turns it to a black t-shirt with no noticable difference from a Hanes black t-shirt, I'd rather just pay the 5$ for a new plain black tee, than ruin my vintage band t-shrts, even if they are faded! Has anyone tried this? Does it work?
