Thank you so much for this video. I love Bob Dylan's music but had no idea that he started out in the Village. I am a life long New Yorker and am trying to learn all I can about this City. Once again, thank you.

Manny Roth, Cafe Wha? David Lee Roth's Uncle. David Lee would spend summer's there with his Uncle. I lived on Bleecker street Facing Jones St. in the 90's. That was my View out my Living Room window.

He was infatuated with Woody Guthrie. There was some influence there. But, Dylan really grew and came into his own between his first and second albums, 1962 to 1963. His identity was sealed. He was a lyricist/songwriter. I remember, at one of his concerts, Pete Seeger on stage and part of a group of singers, was visibly disappointed by Dylan's singing/playing because Seeger felt Dylan should be an activist.

Four minutes in, they're showing the inside of a sex shop, but of course it's paupers Dylan is singing about, not poppers.

Zimmerman, biggest mooch in the Village! All those who fed and housed hime, especially Suzy Rotolo wondered why he never reciprocated in the slightest!

@@tomcarl8021 you know we’ve all been hurt or burnt by a friend or lover or even a family member, you move past and get over it, sometimes the experience of having known that person was well worth the heartache, especially if it was Bob Dylan!

Reputedly chased Suzy through the Village and was Physically violent towards her which was why her Family hated him.
