yeah saying that he choose not to do the worlds is crazy, not saying anything about him, but, it's the worlds, even last place it's spectacular, representing your country against the best. Okay it's new, and it's not what he might win, but, just participating, i think it's a chance you can't pass

Folks I was born and rised in Europe and moved to the USA 18 years ago, Dylan is right the USA has got its own Gravel Bubble which is no match elsewhere, we have so many races for pros and age groupers, so Iconic and hard, America should host the UCI World Championship.

I think it would work if it was scheduled to line up with the Montreal GP & Quebec GP when all the riders are already in North America. Otherwise it’s like the 2022 road WC was in Wollongong when riders dropped out and some countries couldn’t even afford to travel bc costs are so high.

Brilliant interview. I’ve said this before, but you both are the best thing in the entire cycling space. Your interview skills are excellent. You both listen intently and let the guest speak. Your search for the truth is applaudable. You treat every guest the same and don’t kiss ass or play favorites. You sensibilities are really nice and you intuitively get Americans. If you ever find yourselves planning a US east coast trip - reach out to me. Would love to host you. I’m in Philadelphia (well, outer suburbs). Cheers!

Interesting conversation! I appreciate everyone’s candor. As a newer cyclist, I think I watched Dylan’s entire channel soaking up as much knowledge as possible. I can also relate to ridiculously complicated training plans and the resulting burn out. Not trainer road, but another group. As a new cyclist, you don’t know what you don’t know and when someone tells you this is what you need to do….well…..next thing you know you’re doing ultra complex workouts that hurt your brain as much as your legs from trying to keep everything straight.

Respect Dylan just stuck to his guns regarding the TR contro. He has some good points. But as a healthcare worker grunt/cyclist who regularly works overtime and is on call plenty, TR has made it to where I can actually keep up with riders riding almost twice as much on the bike. I have to ride before 6:30AM, and the trainer rides just tick the right boxes.

Maybe my favorite episode as I am from the US and ride, race gravel events. I had emailed Bonk Bros a question, since they read the emails on the podcast, which was how do gravel pros in the states make a living. Obviously from sponsors. But how exactly was what I was interested in. They never answered that question until now and also Tyler, the Vegan Cyclist, did go into this topic on that recent pod. This is really fun content. Thanks.

Thanks, Chris and Jesse, for conversing with Dylan and my take on Dylan's popularity would be that we applaud his pursuit of his dream and that he is actually living the dream. And good for him, this opportunity to be paid for cycling fitness and brand representation is unique and cheers to him that he is making the most of this season of his life. And he is helping all of us by showing the way he navigates these events, most of which are still great unknowns to many of us, tho' we want to learn and participate, too, to one extent or another and as an aside, Ben Delaney at his gravel-centric channel is doing a great job with event promotion and ride videos and bike/gear breakdowns and such. And if Dylan doesn't want to be based full-time where it snows in winter, and I totally understand that, maybe winter where he now lives in NC and live near the action out West during the season..

Great video. As a follower of Dylan I can say that I like both his science and race report videos and I think they mesh perfectly. His race videos are science based approaches in actual real world practice. When he follows a different pacing strategy than most due to science (letting the lead pack go and sticking to his watts with the knowledge that riders will fade back to him), or talks at length about altitude adjusted normalized power... those are more science nerdy than most riders might be.

Keegan will probably due well at this race - but I still think the race will be very unlike the US scene. It'll be shorter and probably more like a road race. With all of the world tour riders they'll probably race it like a road race. As far as the US Team riding as a team, I highly doubt it - I would think that it's every rider for themselves - Alexey may have the best chance at this event as he seems to be coming into form at the right time and his experience in a WT peloton is a great advantage over the other US riders. If any US rider wins - it would be huge for their careers - it may not be more important than the LTGP for Keegan, but for the others it would be career defining. Imagine Alexey with the Rainbow Stripes...huge. Dylan's take on "Spirit of Gravel" are spot on.

Great video thanks guys, I've really enjoyed all of Dylans science videos but find the race review videos not really that interesting, so not sure where else there is to go for keeping me interested but good luck to Dylan in his future ventures. Trainer road seems to be mostly race review or preview videos these days as well now that Chad is gone, getting quite boring. Totally agree with Dylans comments about Trainer road programs, I don't follow their programs but am aware or their approach and see so many people hammering online training only to eventually burn out.
