the fact dynacorn even attempted to do bodies is awesome! they will never be perfect- the originals were never perfect.... i think we can document it and supply feedback to dynacorn!

Absolutely agree. It's a good option when original stuff keeps getting rarer by the day

Me too. Certainly better than no camaro. And most restos now are loaded with the same sheet metal anyway. Working on a 67 rs convertable right now, more of a restored. Check it out if you can. Thanks for the comment

It's a beautiful color. She's on the road and runs strong now. I'll post a video next time we bring it out to a car show

I have no body experience at all, and if i was going to build a car like these ones, I'd go dynacorn for the simple reason i dont have the space to cut and bend bits and pieces to patch everything on an original body, maybe even build a rotisserie. My main goal would be to have a cool cruiser that i built myself without necessarily going through the hassle and effort of a full restoration. I wouldn't care too much if the gaps were a bit off. Just my 2 cents.

There's still plenty of hassle, all new after parts are clean, but nothing fits quite right. The panels always need to be cut, reworked and welded, and bodyworked. I'm becoming a fan of the full floor, trunk and rear rails on a "decent-ish" original body. My fastest and cheapest built cars seem to be those ones, even if it needs quarters and such.

Keep in mind, sometimes gaps are bit off, sometimes one fender is a full inch longer than the other... right outta the box

I worked at a Shelby certified recreation shop about 15 years ago, and those Mustang bodies and parts were crap😉😉

Thanks for the input Billy, I'd say the same about the mustang panels I used in the past, the camaro panels seem a little better then the mustang panels, not great but better, I kind of wonder if they're slowly getting better or if this particular camaro build was done with really cherry picked parts? -as it was built to advertise. I don't normally use dynacorn so I have nothing else f-body to compare to. What are your thoughts? Any input would be great. Thanks

I have a 67 Camaro I bought in 1978. The body panels are all factory GM, and the fit is pretty bad. The header panel isn't the original, but it is a GM nos part that I put on in 1979. It is wider than the cowl panel, so there are large gaps at the front hood sides compared to the back. But that's nothing! The tail light panel was welded in crooked from the factory! The right side sits flush, but the left side sticks out about 1/8 of an inch. It has no body work or wrinkles in the inside of the trunk. It was just sloppy welding back in September of 1966! I bet that is the same 1969 Camaro body I saw at SEMA in 2004 at the Las Vegas convention center. I talked with the owner of Dynacorn. He was telling me where they improved on the factory stampings, like where the rear seats hook to the floor board. He said they wanted to build the bodies here, but the EPA was too restrictive. I thought he told me the bodies were made in Singapore. I do like the idea that my Camaro sheet metal is all GM, but it sure would be nice to have a completely rust free car.

Thanks for sharing that. Most ppl seem to imagine how great these things were built but truth is they varied alot and didn't fit well at all. No one cared at the time. I can't imagine the aftermarket guys frustration trying to make a panel that fits well after realizing how out these things really were. Lol That's what bodywork is, the ability to make bad stuff fit. I'm just glad someone's making the stuff. In the 80's and 90's we had to make many panel ourselves. Thanks for watching

It would be rare that any aftermarket panel will fit without imperfections that will need to be addressed before the final paint
@hickeyskustomresto

Agreed. I gotta say, even paying more for better aftermarket panels doesn't always mean better fit either, I've had Goodman, AMD and dynacorn and had some bolt right on and some had to be cut up and reshaped. On modern parts just use CAPA or better, but for the old muscle and classics there will be cutting and welding no matter what
