Hey, thanks a lot for your tutorials, they're all very clear and straight to the point. Is there anyway to make a tutorial that explains how to show, edit and delete MySQL data through an editable table such as DataTables or Patternfly? Every tutotial I found uses PHP on the server side... thanks a lot!
@prettyprinted

I can create a tutorial like that. Could you give me a link to a PHP tutorial for it so I know what you're talking about?

Great video Anthony, for someone with very minimal JavaScript experience would you recommend learning JavaScript for an application like this? or is one of the client side python projects developed well enough to replicate this application with?
@prettyprinted

This isn't too complicated, so even if you're new to JavaScript, you can quickly learn enough to do something similar to the video.

Pretty Printed Ive been playing with jquery over the last week, and its really cool what you can do with little more than what you are showing here. I have built my data munging skills around the python data science ecosystem. I can easily build an api that lets python do what it is good at, then use jquery to update the DOM elements. I find it hard to read and get all of the braces right because everything tends to get much more nested/dense than python, but im getting used to it. Thanks for all the videos and suggestions!!

You can just use the url_for('static') to reference your JavaScript wherever you them.

Awesome video!!! How can i pass also the labels values of the chart by Flask through the same Ajax function?
@prettyprinted
7 жыл бұрын
Same idea. Instead of only sending data in your results JSON object, you can send labels as well. Then in jQuery you'd remove the hard coded labels of Mon-Fri and replace them with the ones from your object. Thanks for watching!

Many thanks for your reply! But still it didn't work for me :) I asked the same question here. Could you please check it and let me know your detailed explanation? stackoverflow.com/questions/40349670/how-to-return-two-arrays-with-jsonify-in-flask
@prettyprinted
7 жыл бұрын
+Ahmed Youssef I just looked at the question, and I see it's been answered already. The reason why you want function(response) instead of function(values, labels) is because the Flask endpoint can only return one JSON object. Inside of this one object, you can have as much data as you like.

Have you ever created a tutorial on creating an live update chart pulling data from a data frame? Im currently trying to create a real time "create scatter" function pulling data from a sqllite file using different df sorted column values .

Any database queries in Python will eventually return simple objects that you can work with the access the data that are like dictionaries and lists. So once you have that data, it's easy to put it in a chart.

how to make live update? should i use socket.io ?
@prettyprinted

You can use Socket.IO or you can do a simple poll in jQuery where you perform a request every X seconds.
