Love that you loved it too! Unfortunately I’m traveling for the next three weeks so I won’t be able to post the review until first week in Jan, gutted as it was such a fun episode.

Hahaha "Slap and Tickle." Love it! Ahhhhh the plot thickens! Dynasty shows it's dark side in this episode. Corruption, abuse, blackmail, miscarriages and secret pasts. The reaction on Steven's face when Stansfield reveals the cover up was very intense and you can see this really rocked him. It was pretty shocking seeing Steven turn to the dark side with the cocaine. I want to see where this is going. You know it's no good when Ted Dinard is involved. I immediately thought of Dominique too with the caviar! All we needed was a burnt Champagne reference lol The music choices are great too. I'm loving all the 80's cover songs they are including. The cat fight in the Christmas tree next week looks awesome! And what happened to the title sequence this week?

Burnt caviar, brilliant! It all started to kick off in episode 8 & I imagine they will just keep ramping it up until Alexis makes her entrance, February I hear. My heart broke for Steven, he was feeling so confident he could pull it off instead his whole world came crumbling down. I like to think of this version of Ted as ghost of Ted past reeking havoc as retribution for his murder. Here's hoping new BF's Sammy Jo & Fallon team up to rescue Steven. I'm with you on the music, the 80s covers really work. If they released a Soundtrack of all these fab covers I'd have it on repeat. Can you believe that trailer for episode 9, I love your phrasing so much it shall now officially be known as the 'catfight in the Christmas tree' episode. You know until you pointed it out I hadn't noticed the absence of the titles, maybe that's because I'm not too keen on them. Do you think they're working on new ones?

Natasha Taylor-Bryson kzitem.info/door/PLQYLuNgDwNR79O3C6P1IgYrqDbvy0Ihrc Here is a playlist of all of the songs from season 1 so far. I find myself repeating many of them myself! You may be right about the titles. Seems they rushed the current titles and they were sort of a last minute addition, and now mysteriously dropped. I hope they do keep a titles sequence. I love hearing the Dynasty theme in any form and having it back on tv after 30 something years is great. Maybe now they will have proper time to make new titles with La Sheridan coming on board!

The whole rape thing with Blake in the original was the MOST shocking thing that happened in the whole series. It seemed like the producers didn't know how to make Blake early on. Was he this nasty, villainous businessman or this romantic, fatherly patriarch? Looking at that episode with modern eyes, it's shocking how it was dealt with. And to think theirs was "the love that lasts forever," as the series went along. Interesting that John Forsythe refused to allow Blake to cheat with Lady Ashley or anyone else, but rape was ok. I feel like no one thought of it as rape in the past because they were married. Reminds me of Rhett and Scarlett in Gone With the Wind when he says tonight you are not turning me out and he carries her upstairs kicking and screaming. He basically forces himself on her. How times have changed.

Cliff, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this and your point about Lady Ashley is a good one, maybe it speaks to how much power John Forsythe had in later series that maybe he didn't have in the first.

I found myself doing the math on Sammy Jo and Cristal before I remembered this is soap opera & when has anything as mundane as maths interfered with a good soap plot line. Very interested to see where this goes.
