I will never understand why people say Alexis was a good mother. She tended to use her acceptance of her kids like it was a gift they should forever be grateful to her for. The show truly destroyed the idea Alexis was a great mom when they brought in Amanda.

Lets not forget she left her little kids for 16 years because Blake was paying her 20k a month to stay away. And only came back to try and put Blake in prison as a revenge for dumping her 16 years ago, and only wanted to restore relationship with her kids now to use them as pawns against Blake.

decent show for its time...went downhill for me by season 6.....i think this is because the writers became spread thin with the spin-off the colby's.....i am really not sure why they were so afraid to push the envelope.....when they came up with the stupid storyline to give krystal a double....this gave them a rare opportunity to create some great tv.....blake comes home n catches krystal kissing the supposed doctor...he has a flashback of alexis and looses it.....all the mny times that blake allowed krystal to leave the mansion without incident.....he no longer knows this krystal and will allow her to leave but not with krystina.....there relationship totally deteriorates......divorce proceedings get ugly n a custody battle ensues and twd the end of the case...krystle escapes and makes her way to court....she opens the double doors....everyone looks back n sees her but is totally confused because kryslte is sitting next to her attorney...

I agree with your comment. S5 was hampered quite a bit with Fallon gone, Jeff sidelined, the disappointing reveal about Dominique's identity, and the half-baked royal wedding stuff. S6 though is where things just tumbled down a cliff. Maybe if they'd had fake Krystle come on to Dex, that could've created some sparks. But I think the fake Krystle storyline was just doomed. Not because it was stupid, took a dozen episodes to go nowhere, and inflicted George Hamilton's crappy acting on us (though all those things are true) but because it WASN'T KRYSTLE. Who cared about watching Rita facing off against Alexis (or anyone else)?

Wow that’s like 10,000 times better than what actually happened on the show! The whole double plot line was the worst. I was so disappointed in it as were most viewers. I remember reading it was supposed to go on for the entire season but they dropped it when the ratings tanked.

@@joemanzo4453 So ironic that this subject wld occur via email as this exact subject came up this afternoon in convo with my mom (we were discussing the age difference btwn Linda and Joan)....Mny times an actor will yearn for a storyline that will allow them to stretch their depth/range.....and this storyline wld have allowed Linda just that. However, perhaps she did approach the producers n they wtd to keep it simple....U r correct that they quickly abandoned the storyline b/c of viewer backlash....Joan refused to appear on the Colby's b/c she said from the start....splitting the writers btwn 2 shows will cause Dynasty to suffer (they paid her back in S9 by cutting her from 9 episodes....Joan was pissed).

The Moldavian Massacre, while a fantastic cliffhanger, was a mistake. That was a time for them to kill off certain minor characters (like the kings, duchess and princes etc...) and create new plotlines.
@hardren101
3 жыл бұрын
@@renegaderunner332 By that time they had turned their attention to the spin-off "The Colby's" (production and writers)...Joan Collins, refused to appear on the spin-off has she felt it was a huge mistake to use the same writers for both shows has Dynasty wld suffer (and it did). Claudia shld have died in the massacre as she served no purpose in S6 (however, no that i am re-watching all seasons, i realize she was a major contributor to Adam's storyline)....It was a serious miscalculation, b/c they felt the Jeff search for Fallon wld be enough to draw viewers over to the Colby's and if the orig Fallon was part of the spin-off that might have held true but the replacement was not well cast (no disrespect to Emma Samms, but PamMartin was a tough act to follow b/c she was well cast). In addition, they did not do enough to draw the viewer into curious enough to tune in as 6 seasons in, n we had never seen a peep from the California Colby's N then we learn Jeff's mama is alive n well when for 5 seasons we had been led to believe Jeff was an orphan (Blake even offered to adopt him)...Jeff had some milestone events (birth of his 1st child, the kidnapping of that child, death of his 1st love n baby mama, )n we never saw a peep of a mama n out of the blue they drop a whole clan of Colby's out of nowhere, inclusive of a mama....If they were going to include a mama,wld have been smarter if she arrived for Fallon's funeral with the intention of repairing their relationship n Jeff rejecting her...
