After a few little struggles we FINALLY got this thing back together and on the dyno, only thing I changed besides fresh rods and springs was titanium intake and exhaust valves, and taller lifters to change the angle and fit a bigger pushrod as I was having valvetrain stability issues and just short shifted the car for 3 years since it was a perfectly fresh engine that just had some heavy stainless valves holing it back. never seeing it make peak power, but at 7600 or so it would experience bad valve float, and while at a deficit made a hair over 1100. I’d like to add we definitely left HP on the table here as I have to jet the carbs up to compensate for my scoop on the car. When it’s perfect on the engine dyno… it’s lean going down track where it counts. So this thing was a point rich here, but what I really wanted to see is where the thing wants to live. I chase numbers at the track, not on a dyno. Here are the results of pretty much nothing but a happier valvetrain, still leaving hero numbers for power on the table, because I know they’ll be there where I need them… on the drag strip. Hope you enjoy.
Негізгі бет Dyno day FINALLY
