I have a stock Escalade 2007 6.2L awd tuned & also making 350 ft torque

Shouldn't it be making 420 ft lbs torque stock? L92 v8 right? Have the same motor myself.

Today, I test drove a 2011 Yukon Denali. It has 152k miles which is just under 14k miles per year. It ran great. The dealer or last recent owner had a brake job done not long ago. I guess my question is, what type of problems should I expect down the road with this Yukon if I move forward and buy it? I know someone who owned a 2005 Tahoe. He got almost 300k miles out of it before he started having expensive issues. The Tahoe had the 5.3 Vortex. Would you recommend an SUV with the 5.3 or 6.2?

Lifters maybe exhaust manifold gaskets. Id stay away from the awd models. Worse gas milage and if you damage a tire you need to replace all 4. That goes for all awd vehicles
@20tea

I'd choose the 6.2 between years 2007-9 as they don't have 'Displacement on Demand'. The awd is great, but does eat up gas mileage, buy will be more reliable in the long run. Pretty much anything 6.2 or 5.3 has 'variable valve timing' that makes for a less reliable engine the 2006 and earlier though. Just do more research.

Every dyno is different, would need the baseline on that truck when it was stuck amd compare the difference. Being awd, on an awd dyno there's greater drivetrain loss. That could be about 460 at the crank. Too many variables like what TYPE of cam.

What kind of numbers (ballpark) would this make stock? I just picked up an '07 Escalade and am finishing up the basic maintenance stuff. Considering a CAI, and longtubes. Nothing crazy, as it is my new dd. Just trying to get an idea.

Stock my 07 Escalade Esv put down just shy of 360 Hp on the dyno. I can't remember the torque sorry, I'll see if I can find the video. With my GPI VVT1 low lift cam, valve springs, k&n intake, 1 7/8 headers, catless downpipe, corsa exhaust, on a 93 tune I had to stop because I ran out of fuel capacity. When we let out she was climbing past 450hp and you could tell she wasnt even working hard yet. I installed a Flex fuel pump and tank from a 2010 or something and 540cc injectors before I continued doing tuning. She is spot on and has plenty of power from down low all the way to 6500rpm. I'd have to guess I'm around 525-575ish maybe more. Granted the awd sucks the hp rating down quick, don't let her fool you. She tows my 30 foot camper with no issue and can put you back in the seat off the line. Granted if I would have gone a different cam you can pick up over 100+hp just like that, I needed the down low grunt for towing. I do have a brand new VVT1 cam sitting on the shelf if either of you are interested. I should even have the HPTuner file to get you started.

@@TheElderOne2003 what kind of gas mileage are getting? I have a 2011 Denali XL that I’m pulling the motor out next weekend and tearing it down and I want to get rid of AFM and do a cam but curious about gas mileage with a bigger cam than stock. Also what cam part number did you use for yours?

@@geoffbeaubien5124 it all depends if I can keep my foot out of it. City I'm around 12-15mpg, highway I've seen 14-18mpg, and towing my camper fully loaded with the family I average 8-11mpg. But I also run some heavy ass tires. The cam is a GPI VVT1 for the L92

Ooh...looks like the wrong cam for a heavy Denali. The big 6.2 isn't breaking 300lbft until 3500 rpm. I'd want something flatter & wider in torque, especially in the useable rpm range around 2500. Probably the wrong torque converter and too tall gears for that cam. As you know it's all about the combination of parts that separate loud turtles from semi-loud rockets. He'd been better off with a supercharger on the stock cam.
