I’m really curious about the smoke your getting also, I just did a heads, cam intake swap on my 5.0 and it’s doing the exact same thing yours is doing. The fact that it smokes when you let off is basically telling you that it’s pulling oil into the cylinder when a high vacuum is present... maybe valve guide seals?? What crank? That's what my 351 made with GT40 intake, lunati cam (similar to E303) TFS heads with a heavy cut (43 cc, approx 11.1:1) and stock 1997 F250 bottom end. My car was tuned with the 90mm LMAF by Jerry W himself and a 1993 GT automatic EEC ( my car was a 1988 Mercury Cougar XR7 that I also converted to manual with a termec 3550, its actually easier to do with that car than a mustang if the car is an XR7) I made 362 ft lbs. He turned it for average power though and not peak. I never changed the rear from 3.08s and could easily spin through 3rd. It was the most vicious 300hp and 362 ft lbs I have ever felt to this day. It definitely lost some top end after the tune, but gained a steel wall of instant torque.

I'm fairly certain its because the tail pipe is full of soot from when it was running rich and also no PCV syatem. The old upper intake had a good amount of oil when I took it off. I'm going to check plugs after mustang week though. If they are still getting oil on them then I have a problem. I'm hoping it's just left over from previous problems. Not normal though for sure.

Your better off getting 1 axle from a ranger and the other from an Aerostar. The Aerostar has the short axle on the other side compared to the ranger. The twisting force is in one direction for a long time and might weaken it if you start twisting in the opposite direction.

Car is looking and sounding great. The new wheels have really started to grow on me. The old wheels sure are going to look mighty fine on the next car. *wink* *wink* I'm dying to give you a hint of who I think it is. There are five letters and one number in his name.

@@GearHead704 Very nice, looks great. Son has an 89 LX fox that he drives, fantastic cars. Your color caught my eye. I have a chevelle that was sold new at Modern Chevrolet in Winston Salem and it was special ordered in Carolina Blue. Very rarely do I ever see that color anywhere now, even in the Carolinas. Looks great on your fox.

I'm not really sure what that might be, but you can give powercurve a call (info is in description) and they should be able to tell you if that's tune related or not. Good luck!

I had it laying around, trying to fix a oil burning issue, but I don't think it worked. Trickflow heads and intake are likely in the future, but I gotta focus on the SSP for now. I'll get back to TarHeel Fox.

Hi Larry. These are actually 93 cobra replicas. They are on correctly. Check out Brew2L's page as he also has a 93 cobra clone, and the wheels are the same way as mine.

GearHead704 excellent body shop. Car looks great. I’ll bet that paint job wasn’t cheap. Do you know what compression the motor is making ? Keep learning man I can see you got bit by the mustang bug. Lol I’ve owned about 40 of them. Im building a 37k mile 85 notch 347 6 speed black. I’ll find you on instagram.

Ouch! Your plugs are not the correct style. The correct ones do not require a washer, should be a bevel cut that is a compression seal! Those would be for a hemi style head!

The plugs were installed previously by a shop, and I was in a time crunch to get new plugs before the dyno session, so I elected to go with the same ones in a pinch. Basically I had to have the car dyno tuned before Mustang Week. When I pull the plugs after MW to see if there is oil again i'll probably look at seeing if I need to replace them or not as I will not have the time constraint.

Now you have, LOL. I was so happy I fixed some of the driveability issues and I thought I had solved my oil burning problem. Basically I thought the car was done. Sadly no, and it looks like I've got to rebuild it now. This time we are going with different heads, intake, and probably cam. I'm a generally positive guy.
