Wow! Thanks very much. I hope that you will try some of our other videos, like Driving the Dempster, or Haynes Alaska. Mike
Wow, nice I wished I seen this yesterday. Cost me $48.48, for the check valve, vacuum tank, vacuum hose, would have cost me way less...nice video. Subscribed looking forward to your adventures

An update. I was still having problems with really long climbs. I found a hose t on the vent activator it was for the rear AC. I used 2 cable ties to pinch that line. Then my heater resistor burned out. All good now

Great vid - going to try on my e350 it does the same thing on hills. Btw the vac loss also causes rear ac to switch to heat (default when no vac present). Thanks much

I am going to do the same thing, except I'm purchasing an aftermarket vacuum accumulator and mounting it under the dash on the passenger side. That way, everything is protected from salt and engine heat cycling.

Sounds like a plan. I found another vacuum leak due to the rear heater unit's vacuum line being re.oved, I squeezed it off with 2 cable ties and now I never lose ac no matter how long the hill is. At this minute I am broke down at CTC waiting for a new coil. I hope that fixes the problem it did a few years back. Runs fine but only when cold. Stalled out on a hill and would not start till cooled right down fuel pump was running.

Thanks very much. We have lots of travel videos on KZitem under the name Bellas Vistas. We are currently working on a long one, Van Repairs and Travelling.
I did this exact fix and it still blows thru defrost when driving. Can anyone tell me what to look for next?

I would check for vacuum leaks in the control diaphragms . In my van there is a panel on the dash passenger's side it pops out and the actuators are in there.

@@bellasvistas3463 Thanks. Just looked in there... still looks brand new. No broken vac lines.

On the inside black line pass side footwell...I cut it off and connected the check valve to that line that goes up in the dash. Was I supposed to hook it to the other side of the line that was coming thru the firewall? (If that makes sense lol)

@@steelcold3912 Maybe you can smoke test the vacuum lines. We found a leaky EGR valve on my van like that. I think it's the diaphragms that actually leak. I have heard about using propane to test for leaks I have never tried that

This is how we tested the exhaust and vacuum lines with smoke kzitem.info/news/bejne/qolurId_r6OGq5w
