Sorry for not replying to comments not been on here for a while. Bike is running very well, I have the software for modifying the controller so have been messing with settings. I've lowered my gearing now but still manage 35 mph! The motor is holding up well I've serviced it a couple of times, remove cover and re-grease with out removing the motor from the bike so fairly easy. Messed up a controller with all my experiments with programming so replaced it with the 25amp one and now happy with my settings. As far as costs go I paid £290 for the motor direct from China, battery I built myself and used some second hand headway cells left over from a project (£7 each x 16). Bike was £240, nuvinci 360 hub I ordered from the US and cost just $180 including delivery. I now have a left side twist throttle and huge 203 front disc brake. This is my test bed for a project I'll be starting soon, I will be building my own brand carbon fibre framed ebike! Watch this space.

how's this holding up for ya mate?.. in the process of the same set up and wondering how the nuvinci holds up to the 750w

See post above. The nuvinci seems to be doing fine, it's become easier to shift under load now and feels great. It makes the bike silent too, I feel it it's very capable of taking the full 100nm of torque from the motor. I've got good at slowly winding the gear shift as my speed increases keeping the motor at the sweet spot, very nice hub. Heavy but in this set up even on a low power setting you won't notice.
