Indeed. Derrick May did a couple of fabulous remixes of Sueno Latino, but I don't remember him even including the loon sample in his versions. The E II must have been quite popular in Italy and Spain (or at least with a couple of teams of producers), as its sounds appeared on quite a few of the house tracks from those countries.

On the Emulator II there's a red button called "Glove mode pcm generator". The trick is to wear a wool glove (cotton won't do). Simply press it using the wool glove and ancient sounds appear. Alternatively, you can take a microphone and sample a stream, a female voice, wind chimes, a shakuhachi, a loon etc.

I found one of those little Macs at work in the mid-90's and brought it home to use as a dumb terminal and word processor. When it was time to send it away, I brought it back and it sat outside my cube for 6 months with a work order to go to resource recovery. So I gave up and put it in the thing out in the hall with a "Free to a good home" sign on it. It disappeared in about half an hour :D Awesome sounds, Paolo. Michael Langley not quite as they used sampled sounds attached to analogue filters; Forerunner to the akai s range, emu racks etc is more accurate. I’d say the ppg has more in common with today’s digital synths (which also had analogue filters) as it’s sound banks are still used by Nord, Waldorf and access..

I got ear cancer from the Baby Grand sounds. Then hearing atrophy from Karplus Strings. Fat Midi only worsened my condition. Big Pad caused me vomiting and the Ethereal Synth caused multiple (literally) Organ failure....But Loon Garden did a great job keeping me from certain inevitable death. Effects hit me very deep in my intestines, followed with two Liquid stacks that felt like injections of pure numbness. I thanked for that, otherwise I wouldn't have survived Liquid Stack 3. Liquid Stack 4 nearly brought me on my feets, and for the first time I had a little hope to survive this. Which was spoiled by the Power Drums. All santy lost, the Marcato Strings finally killed me and I had to reboot myself quietly. I decided that only Superman or Supergirl could handle these sounds, and since I'm not one of them, I'll stay with my FZ-1 :)
