Fermenting a corn, wheat, oat, and chocolate briese with Angel yellow label right now. Can’t wait to run it to see what the white dog takes like, and how it improves over a few months on oak…

I think that's the tasting chair Randy, that's a nice area. A great review on that one. I have one here I should be able to distil it in a few days. I have used like a horse feed with sun flower seeds, corn, some molasses, looks like quite a bit of legumes and some other stuff. i put in some LME barley malt and 20 kilos of sugar, and then i added a lot more cracked corn. its around 25 and a half gallons. this time i will only put water in the thumper and clean it.

I must have missed the oatmeal mash video. I’ll have to watch it. I too have found 16-18 months of aging REALLY starts to make a whiskey pop. The nose comes alive… And while it’s a little bit too astringent still… It’s definitely drinkable. Cool video. Good stuff.👍🥃

Tried his recipe with instant oats and honey, didn't bother with barley or rice hulls. Even with a few months aging it's as good or better than any medium cost commercial whiskey. The only problem is I was scared I'd screw up so I made a really small amount. Now I'm stuck with a single mason jar worth more to me than gold. Despite the effort, oatmeal and honey are really the way to go if you, like me, hate scotch. It's basically the opposite of whatever scotch is.

Nice job. I do have a question. I did an oatmeal run a few months ago. 10 Gallons water, 22lbs oatmeal, 5 lbs malted barley and some sugar. I forget my numbers but it all seed to work. I did ferment on the grain. I transferred the mash to a carboy when done to settle and used a clearing agent. I had half a carboy of sediment that would not clear. Did you get anything like that. Final product run with the sediment was pretty good but scorched a little

sorry took me a long time to get back to you what i do is sparge the grain to try to get rid of most sediment ( not all) and then i will siphon to still pot
